 30 second scan - employer's perspective -2

If you’ve been working for a job search for a long time, you’re most likely reading that employers don’t read resumes, they’re scanning their.

Do you find the 30 second scan funny? When you consider how important it is to fill a vacant position for an employer, this is not very much time, is it? Why would an employer not want to read EVERY resume to make sure they hire the right person for the job? Of course, there is no way to correctly feel someone in 30 seconds.

Well, think about it from the point of view of a hiring manager.

The day starts at 7:00 in the morning with a call - the telephone rings, there are emails for answering and meeting with marketing at 8:00 in the morning to go to the newly vacant position of brand manager.

From there, a round of opening interviews in the executive package for the administrative assistant should be performed with little or no time to consider the questions before the interview with each candidate.

The next thing you know is lunch time, but hey, there is no time for this, as the meeting with the Administrator of benefits is next and the recent changes in medical plan have caused many goals, trying to attract new sales associates.

After this screaming match, it's time to check out the latest recruitment reports to set up the next round of orientation meetings, as they have to be held every 2 weeks, and this is already a week.

A telephone call at 3:30 pm for an orientation staff telephone call results in a dozen more phone calls to sign up for the conference room, since no one wants to give up their time interval for anyone else.

It's almost 4:00 pm. The quick restroom trip ends with the newly hired sales director stopping to pounce on changes in medical care that were not part of the original employment agreement.

The final meeting of the day consists of all personnel managers who, as a rule, discuss all one time about the upcoming acquisition of a new company.

Before you go home, the 4-inch seat pack is filled into a briefcase, which will be reviewed at home after the children are in bed.

So does a 30 second scan make it a bit more sensible?

Yes, filling vacancies is important. It is very important. One of the most serious mistakes that a hiring manager can make is involving someone in an organization that does not have the right to the position they are hired for - OR - they do not fit the corporate culture. Each new rental reflects a hiring manager - good or bad.

In reality, if time is allowed, resumes will be considered more carefully, but this is simply not possible for most hiring managers.

Something else that is important to note is the fact that most job candidates go through this 30-second scan quite easily. There are just not so many applicants who spend the time to ensure that their resumes are infallible. It is really easy to eliminate 50% or more resumes in this 30 second scan.

If you want to master the job search process, you need to make sure that you missed this 30-second scan. Adjust your resume again and again. Do not give the employer a reason to immediately eliminate you. Once you complete the 30 second scan, your resume is likely to get a better overview. At this point, you will enter a completely new arena of renewal issues (this will not be considered at this time).

Your goal is to go through a 30 second scan. Keep checking your resume!
