
Ayurveda, which is one of the most ancient sciences of healing, is a vast field of science and therefore needs to be divided into eight branches, which are collectively known as Ashtang Ayurveda. Ayurveda works on the principle of modern medical therapy and believes in the specialized treatment of various parts of the body. Thus, the medicinal art of Ayurveda is classified by branches that deal with psychiatry, internal medicine, treatment of eyes, ears, nose, throat and head, toxicology and gerontorology separately. As you know, Ayurveda is the world's first system of medicine that classifies pediatrics, aphrodisiacs, and surgery as a branch of any drug science.
List of eight branches:
1. Kaya Chikitsa (Internal Medicine): The word "Kaya" means "Agni - the digestive fire in the body." “He is responsible for the entire metabolism in the human body. If there is an imbalance in this “Agni”, it can lead to many diseases. Kaya Chikitsa deals with diseases such as viral fever, diarrhea and cough by treating and balancing Agni.
2 Graha Chikitsa (Demonology / Psychology): This section covers diseases such as insanity, epilepsy, and illnesses caused by the unhappiness of external factors such as evil spirits and ghosts.
3 Urdhvaanga Chikitsa (Treatment of diseases above the clavicle): This section deals with the treatment of diseases associated with the organs above the clavicle. The organs that are included in this treatment are eyes, ears, nose, throat, mouth, teeth, and head.
4. Shyla Chikitsa (Surgery): This section discusses the treatment of diseases caused by foreign bodies and diseases that require surgical therapy. This treatment should only be done if the disease cannot be cured with medication.
5. Damstra Chikitsa (toxicology): This section deals with the treatment of poisoning from animals, such as snakes, insects, spiders, scorpions, as well as plants, metals and minerals.
6 Hara Chikitsa (Geriatrics, Rejuvenation): This department of ayurveda deals with the rejuvenation and restoration of youth. It discusses the various types of therapy and herbs that must be taken to restore youth and vitality.
7 Vrsha Chikitsa (Aphrodisiac Therapy): This section discusses treatment that helps get good offspring. He provides various medications and treatments to improve masculinity and sexual ability.
8. Baala Chikitsa (treatment of children / pediatrics): He treats children. There are three important aspects to remember when treating children.
· Children cannot explain their problems.
· The dosage of medication should be different for them.
· Medicines given to them must be acceptable to them.
