Assistance in small operations along with the removal of sutures is also possible work in this area.
Specializing in an ophthalmologic, optometric or laboratory medical assistant, you can help other people in a particular area. The Ophthalmological Assistant will perform diagnostic tests, measure and record eye vision and function of the eye muscles, and assist patients in the proper care of their contact lenses. An optometrical assistant works directly with an oculist and performs preliminary eye tests. Hiking assistants help with surgery, take x-rays and throw leg shots.
To work in a doctor's office requires training and certification as a medical assistant. This is achieved by visiting an accredited school either locally or online. Training in this area usually takes from six months to a year, but may take longer, depending on the length and requirements of the school program. Passing the Certified Medical Assistant exam is a prerequisite for working as an assistant. This is done after the completion of the medical assistance education program.
