
Shahid Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women is another DU college that offers various career and vocational courses that may not be on the popular radar, but have a high employment rate. The various qualified and voluntary courses offered by the college are designed exclusively to bridge the gap between university and industry. The applied practical training presented in our curriculum fills the gaps of the usual courses of pure science.
The three-year programs offered by the college are B. Sc (Hons). In the field of electronics, instrumentation, food technology, computer science and biomedical sciences. All of these career courses are interdisciplinary, and students complete eight weeks of industry-specific training during the second and third years.
This year, the college received about 15,000 applications for various career courses with maximum experience in computer science, and then Food Technology and Biomedical Science. However, electronics and instrumentation offer equally good opportunities. Electronics students either work in the IT industry or study at various universities, including IIT.
Students also have the opportunity to choose an additional course CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate), which is recognized worldwide and helps in placements. Although many students go to the candidate, the college helps them in placement.
Previously, students were predominantly IT companies such as HCL, Sapient, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Siemens, Wipro, Motorola, LG Electronics, NTPC, Dabur, Nirulas, Kwality, Glaxo Smithkline, TERI, National Heart Institute, Jubiliant Organosys, and Ranbaxy Laboratories, among others.
The starting salaries offered to students ranged from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 per month.
