Treatment and recovery - the way the wheel of medicine -2

Native Americans have an approach to health and well-being, which stems from the belief that the disease is associated with more than the body. We believe that the disease is associated with an imbalance. Imbalance is not limited to the physical body, but rather an extension all bodies - physical, spiritual, mental and emotional. In this article, I will introduce you to the Medical Wheel and share with you my understanding of this, as far as our health and well-being is concerned. Then we dive into each of the bodies, and you will learn how to use and apply the Medicine wheel in your life to create harmony and balance.

The Wheel of Medicine is a tool and guide that was given to us by the Creator and used by Indian people for many things, including healing and well-being. In general, a disease is a physical manifestation of spiritual, mental and / or emotional imbalance. For some time it has been known that stress and anxiety are associated with health. Our happiness and relationships are an important part of healing when we get sick. In the "Great Wheel" everything is connected; everything is connected. A more holistic approach to wellness therapy is one that looks at a wider picture of possible causes and solutions.

Physical, spiritual, mental and emotional bodies are represented in the four quadrants of an equilateral cross, found in the center of the circle. This cross and circle are symbols for the Medical Wheel. A circle and / or glyph symbolize many things, in fact ALL things. The circle is perfection, balance, life, the Universe, infinite potential; the glyph is neither a plus nor a minus. All things and part of this circle.

As a tool and guide, we can think of the Medicine Wheel as a map. Like a regular map, there are landmarks that serve as landmarks for navigation or may be symbolic starting points that we know of as four main directions — east, west, north, and south. (There are actually six directions in the Wheel, because there are also “above” and “below”, sometimes referred to by Indian people as “above the world” and “below the world”, or “Father Heaven” and “Mother Earth.”) Each of four bodies correspond to four directions.

Eastern correspondents with the physical, in the south with the emotional, the west with the spiritual and the north with the mental. An easy way to remember how the four bodies relate to four directions is to think of Kolem of medicine as a human body. The head or mind (mental) is in the North just as the north is always “up” on a regular map. The heart (emotional) is in the south just as the heart is smaller in the human body. To remember the eastern (physical) and western (spiritual), just remember that we depend on the sun for our literal physical existence. We need his light, his warmth and energy to physically survive. Just as the sun rises to the east to provide our physical needs, and then turns into twilight, when it slides to the west, you can also think and remember the spiritual connection with the West. You may have heard the reference to "twilight" or you may have heard the term "the sun in your life." Indians believe that when the spirit leaves the body, it moves to the west. The spirit returns to the spiritual realm.

Everything is interconnected, and everything works together. That is our health - physical, spiritual, mental and emotional. When you work with this knowledge and put your steps in harmony with this ancient wisdom, you will find strength!

Our focus will be on the four organs and their relationship to health. We will also discuss two other areas - above and below. They represent the social and professional aspects of our well-being.

EAST - Physical

The sun is a life-giving source that is central to all life on earth. The importance attached to the sun by Indian people is marked by the reverence they show. The sun is our father just as the earth is our mother. As a father, the sun provides us and gives us warmth and light - and works with the mother to provide food for us. Just as the sun rises to the east, signaling the beginning of a new day, a new life, or a new cycle, we also put "new beginnings" in the east on the wheel of medicine. When a child is born, he introduces the first of four sentences in the growth cycle: infant, child, adult, and older. Since this new life is the beginning, the earthly journey begins in the east.

First, it is necessary to feed and feed the body so that it has everything necessary for optimal performance. Diet and nutrition - an important element. We want to put good things in our bodies, protecting them from what may harm it. Our body does a good job of filtering and emptying toxins, but when we consume amounts of toxin-type substances, such as those found in drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, the body must fight its best to restore and maintain balance. Abuse of any of these things usually means that something unbalanced in one or more other bodies — spiritual, mental, and emotional — all of which makes us more susceptible to illness.

In addition to diet and nutrition and the prevention of toxins, the body needs exercise. Exercise should take place in two forms: training in strength or resistance (weight lifting) and cardiovascular exercises (for example, cycling, swimming, climbing stairs or walking). Everything that is aerobic helps increase heart rate. Due to physical activity, the body's immune system is enhanced, and its ability to use and assimilate nutrients increases. The body needs blood and oxygen, and exercise increases the flow of both.

As with everything, balance is the key. The body needs rest just as it needs. Each person is distinguished by his need for sleep, as well as their need for physical exercise. Rest is a necessary component for a healthy area. The balanced part of each day should be devoted to proper exercise, proper nutrition and rest, in order to keep the physical body in balance and function at an optimal level.

SOUTH - Emotional

When the sun moves clockwise around the Earth, we will mark it by traveling in the same direction around the Medical wheel. In doing so, we enter the south and the emotional body. Our emotional body has both an internal and an external aspect. Emotional health is an awareness not only of our own feelings, but also how we relate to others.

First, we must understand and manage our feelings and sense of well-being. When a person is in a state of balance, a general feeling of positivity and even enthusiasm for life arises. The difference between life and life is the difference between existence and prosperity.

There are only a few emotions, but because of them there are a variety of feelings. Fear, anger, happiness, sadness / grief and love are basic emotions. Emotional maturity comes when we learn to effectively manage and cope with these emotions, as well as the attendant additional feelings. Just as we have to find and devote time every day to creating and maintaining a physical body, we must also devote time to caring for and growing our emotional body. Daily meditation practice is an advantage. Take time from each day to find something that you are happy and grateful about. Send this gratitude in the form of a prayer, as it will help you become more aware. Awareness is crucial for the growth and development of our emotional health. You also need to focus and make time for a positive relationship in our lives. When our relationships are stable and healthy, they add to our well-being. We can exist without other people, but we cannot flourish. Simply put, we were created a herd of animals and as such, we must work together for the benefit of the herd. Our relationship is an external aspect of our emotional body, just as self-awareness is an internal one.

You may have noticed that there are different emotions. I can use the terms “positive” and “negative” to talk about emotions, because there can be learning and growing from pain ... extremely making it a positive event in our lives. Fear is a great teacher, especially when we work to control and develop from it. Feelings are the clues we need so that we can make adjustments to our lives. When we feel good, we go for more. When we feel bad, we make corrections to feel better. All this should be relaxed with good judgment and balance. There are many things that can make us feel good, which in excess can be negative. Some emotions make us feel good, and some make us feel bad, but all this is necessary for our emotional state of mind and our learning.

WEST - Spiritual

Why are we here? What is the reason for our being? Are we part of something bigger than ourselves? What it is? These are some of the questions asked (and sometimes ignored) by people. We take seriously the need for food, clothing and shelter (our physical needs) and recognize that we feel and are living animals (emotional), and that we have the power of thought (mental), but spirituality is the only thing that people can That way to Deny. For those who recognize and acknowledge that we are spiritual beings, they also know that it is necessary to feed and nourish the spirit just as we need to take care of our physical, emotional and mental bodies.

One of the ways we do this is through prayer and meditation. Every thought that comes out of our mind and every word that comes from the mouth is a prayer. When we think, we send because energy has gone out into the world and the universe. That is why we must be careful with our thoughts. Whether we know it or not, our thoughts are intentions that go out of us, even if we are not aware of it. Our words bring into the physical realm what we think. The realization that our thoughts and our words are forms of prayer should ask you, “What do I pray for?”

Our spirit - our essence - that we are in our power. To be spiritual is to raise our essence to the highest level. We do this through our thoughts, words and deed and constant awareness! Feed your body, mind, and heart, and you feed the spirit. Seek understanding and truth and devote part of each day to prayer and meditation, and your spirit will be strong. Another important thing for the spirit is the attitude of gratitude. Our gratitude is the only thing we can give to the Creator, who is not yet His. Regardless of your gratitude for staying in your mind, we are returning the generous universe from the heart. The spirit feeds on it.

NORTH - Mental

We have the ability to learn endlessly. The brain continues to grow in our lives, but as our body, heart and spirit, we must feed it with good things.

The psychic aspect of our being is important because thought is the beginning of what we create. Change your mindset and you change your beliefs. Change your beliefs, and you change your actions. Change your actions, and you change your character. Change your character, and you change your destiny. It all starts with a thought. This is our opportunity to create with the help of our intention the life we want for ourselves. When you focus on positive things in life, a positive result. To realize the thoughts that may require adjustment or change, meditation is central.

In addition to meditation, we want to stimulate and challenge the brain and devote part of each day to intellectual pursuits and growth. Puzzles, learning a new language, playing a musical instrument, anything that makes the brain work, may be associated with growth.

I cannot stress enough the power of being positive and focusing on the good in life. The term “we reap what we sow” is true. When you send good things into the universe, you get good things back. The seeds you sow today are the garden from which you will eat tomorrow.

MOTHER - social

I left to assign direction to this aspect because of the negative association of connotation with “down”, so I use “Mother” because the maternal energy flows forward when the back energy of the back is down. To remember this, you can think of Mother Earth and the Father Sun. Together they form a double helix that rotates in all things. In humans, this energy passes through the natural channel in our spine.

We need to take care of our social / community environment, like a mother who cares for her child. In a native culture, there is a strong sense of community, because we recognize that “a village is required”. Everything that we, as individuals, affects the whole that affects us in return. We need to take care of everything, how we take care of ourselves and all the dimensions that make up this being. We rely on others for many things. We rely on creatures and other animals on this earth for our very survival. We are a flock of animals, and therefore we had to know our place in the big circle of life. We want to know how we treat everyone else - and how they relate to us. Each person invests either positively or negatively in their own environment and community, so this happens in all cases. best interest in achieving healthy relationships with the world and all beings in it.

Referring to the four stages of the growth cycle, when a child is born, everything is done for the child. He is dressed, fed, cleaned and caring for someone else. In a sense, the world (at least, as the child knows) revolves around it. As he grows and his awareness grows, he sees a larger world, and a natural inclination is trying to master this world so that it becomes more independent - move on and do more for himself. Sometimes in his study he discovers that the world is becoming less about him and more about the whole. If his study is in balance, he knows the importance of serving the whole, because he knows that serving everything is essentially self-serving.

Part of our life must be devoted to community service at a certain level. At the heart of this is learning to live in harmony with our environment and community — to receive from them and give to them.

FATHER - Professional

Profession is more than what we do to make a living. This is how we “work” to enrich our lives and how we contribute to the whole society. He rises above, simply fulfilling the task, doing it with a positive attitude.

In our profession, we can acquire new skills, discover new ideas that can feed on our physical, spiritual, emotional and mental bodies. Understanding how the contribution of work in our lives, our families, our community and our world can raise a task-oriented position for something more meaningful and complete.

The key to finding this fulfillment is finding what you like to do ... finding something that fits your values, morals, and beliefs. Not to mention that we are talking about the right attitude, working with your heart and finding joy in achievement and fulfillment, because you know what you are doing, it is important on so many levels. Do it as if you mean it!

SUMMARY

Energy around us. We are made of energy. There are many different forms of energy: heat, light, men, women, positive, negative, etc. There is also Universal Energy - divine energy - that when we use it and connect with its flow, life changes.

In order to align ourselves with this stream, we must align all the harmonics mentioned above. When all bodies are in harmony and balance, it is like alignment of all the planets for us and our good.

Energy is vibrational and vibrational levels. If we want to resonate with these things at a higher level of vibration, we must first raise our own. We introduce this higher flow, making the best choice that affects all levels and all bodies. These elections are based on positive thoughts and actions. Our pursuit of good health and well-being, at its core, leads to a good life. To be good is to live well.

Traditionally, I put this information in your legs. If you have to find something good in it, pick it up and go with it, because now it belongs to you. We do this with gifts of this nature, because we understand that every person has his own free will. With this free will is responsible for this gift of life, which is ours. Each person must take the initiative and be an active participant in his or her well-being.

(Tawennihake)
