Salt Lake City-Takoton (Cheat Day on My Diet in preparation for a Muay Thai fight)-2

In preparation for the Muay Thai fight, I’ve been on a diet for the past few weeks and got some good results. The beauty of the diet I am on is that it allows you to fool the day once a week. The day of fraud actually prompts you to go absolutely bonker for 14 hours a week.

Science is behind this, but it is feed for another post.

I have been craving tacos in the last few weeks, so I decided to organize Tacoton.

The premise behind the Tacotone was to eradicate the BEST tacos in Salt Lake City.

I invited several friends (many of them are MMA fighters or Muay Thai students), and we found this:

I wanted to start the day with Taco Fast Food. We were all there ... late at night, hunger strikes ... waddya gunna do? There is nothing more delicious after a night of drinking than a few tacos ... that is, if you can get through the passage without engaging in a fistfight with other Taco Lovers night fans.

I must point out that we held this Tacoton on Sunday (My appointed DAY OF THE TRACE). Time Taco, like many other high-ranking places of Taco, was closed on Saturday.

FAST FOOD

I took the party package from Taco Bell and Del Taco.

I went to my gym, where I met up with my fellow Tacotaners and ate some tacos.

It was nice to see some of them, since I was not the most social person in the last few months, since I was recovering from knee surgery.

We exposed the party packages and tried. The Taco Bell Party package had 12 tacos in it and cost just over $ 15. Del Taco had 10 tacos, but it was almost half the price.

Taco Del Taco was literally ½ the size of Taco Bell, although it failed to test for taste.

Taco Bell wins by unanimous decision.

TACO TRUCKS

Then we decided to try the famous Taco trucks, about which so many people talk on state street in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Sears car park on South South Street, located on South South Street, has two places, and two south south - 900 South State Street.

The first one we visited is in the south (about 800 south) at the Sears parking lot. Compared to “Fast Food”, we just indulged, it was Heaven on Earth. Very tasty tacos and cost $ 1.00 apiece.

The rest of the faces of the East (to the state street). We asked everyone to give us our best taco. This truck recommended Cabeza, and it did not disappoint. VERY tender meat, and super tasty ... VERY GOOD!

The third truck we visited Faces East (On the way to State Street) at 900 South. They were fine. Of course, the worst of the four trucks that we visited.

The last truck we visited stood in the south of southern southern Europe. We have a winner. These were some of the most delicious tacos I've ever tasted. Hands down the winner is Taco Trucks. The name of the truck is El Rey Del Taco. Try it.

All trucks were agreed on price. They all charged $ 1.00 for tacos, served them on small soft cakes and had similar seasonings. El Rey Del Taco was also the best salsa of the four trucks we visited.

If you are craving a taco, and don't want to deal with the hassle on your way to a restaurant, check out the Taco Trucks Center. Try different trucks for yourself. On the tank taco you can not go wrong.

RESTAURANTS

As I mentioned earlier, we did our Taco Adventure on Sunday, so many of the places we were recommended were not open. As far as I know, you do not deserve to be mentioned unless you still serve on Sunday.

The first restaurant we visited was Taqueria 27. They have two places, but we visited the city center. He was very clean and upscale. There was a very professional waiting staff, as well as a good selection of tacos and drinks.

I had Bloody Maria, who was very good, and Duck Confit Taco, which was recommended by our waiter. It was a delicious taco, and I fully understand what all the fuss is about. I really liked this place and I would recommend you try it.

The second restaurant we visited did not serve as alcohol and was rather a traditional Mexican restaurant. It was called Taqueria El Rey De Oros. There were many families, and none of them spoke English. Tacos were, in my opinion, the second best tacos we ate in restaurants ... very good! I also liked Crema Churro, which was out of this world.

Then we went straight down the street to Red Iguana 2. We tried to place an order at these restaurants, since we had 13 people in our group, and I didn’t want to be too intrusive waiting staff. We were told that they do not take reservations when they made phone calls.

Upon arrival at Red Iguana 2, we saw a lot of people waiting to enter. When we approached the hostess, we were told that it would be 20-25 minutes of waiting.

We decided that it would be worth the wait, so we went to a restaurant in a bar and ordered a few drinks. I told the manager what we were doing and asked if it was possible for us to have 13 tacos in the bar, and we would not force them to set the table for all of us. He told us that this is impossible, we will have to wait for our table. There was a big table that was vacant, and I asked him about it. He said it was reserved by another group. (I thought they did not make reservations ???)

After half an hour, we finally sat down. It took another half hour before we got our drinks. By that time, most of our group was tired and lost the mojo to finish Tacoton. The red iguana 2 was a complete murder of BUZZ, and, frankly, their food was, at best, average. It was at the bottom of the list, as tacos went, but some of them could be the result of the bad taste that we all had in our ears, as they lied to us about a 20-25 minute wait, which eventually turned out to be 2 hours , and the fact that we could not reserve a table, while others could.

In full contrast with Red Iguana 2, let me give you my highest recommendation for El Paise in the city of West Valley. Unfortunately, most of our group did not get to El Pais because of the crappy service we received in Red Iguana, but those who did it ... LOVED THIS.

El Paisa is as real Mexican as he gets. If you want to come here, you’ll better understand the Spanish classes of Rosetta Stone, and be prepared to feel that you just got off the plane in Puerto Vallarta.

Live Mexican music and real Mexican clown are the first things you find here. (We left right before the beginning of the music, but they were going to the show while we were there). Sunday is their big day ... unlike other places we visited.

The wait staff is very friendly and, despite the language barrier, really makes you feel at home.

The specialty in El Pais is Molkaheta High, which is a large ceramic pot with onions, bell peppers, beef, chicken, shrimp and cheese. You make your own tacos from the contents of the bank, and the table divides the bank.

These were the most delicious tacos of the day, and this comes from a group of people who by this time were very sick tacos. The food is awesome. The atmosphere is not similar to any other Mexican restaurant that you visit at SLC, and you will be glad to have visited you. All at reasonable prices, and you will not starve from there.

In general, Takoton was a successful success. My gut breaks down at the seams. I had to spend some time with some old friends and had a great time. I'm not sure that this is the optimal diet for a typical Muay Thai training camp or mixed martial arts, but it was fun. Thanks to everyone who participated, and happy tacoing!
