Health care reform - how the law affects older people -2

The federal law on health care reform was passed on March 26, 2010. Individuals interested in Florida and Blue Cross health plans are eager to find out how health insurance in Florida will suffer.

Regardless of whether anyone has coverage or looking for a quote for affordable health insurance, and whether it lives in Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers or Lakeland near our four sales offices in the Gulf, Floridian asks, what the rest of the country wants to know: “How will my future and future family be affected this year, and then when will the federal changes be completely passed?”

With a larger and larger percentage of the population in the demographic category of “senior citizens” over the years, we will certainly be affected by the problems faced by older Americans.

There are a lot of rules written now, but one clear change in health partnerships is that Medicare will pay an annual discount of $ 250 for those who are in the area covered by Medicare Part D. Historically The “donut hole” touched at least 300,000 Floridians. A $ 250 discount ticket will be sent within a few months after the Medicare D start number begins within a certain year. When a person is in the “donut hole” and receives a check, there are no other means of Medicare. More than 10 times this amount can be spent out of pocket before the disastrous Medicare coverage comes into effect before the end of the year. The cycle begins again next year and is a serious problem for millions of Americans.

Since January 2011, a more significant change for older people is approaching a turn. During one of the gaps in Medicare D coverage, drugs with names will have a 50% discount.

Since the rising cost of drugs is a major concern, it is difficult to predict the overall result. Many of them noted that the cost of medicines based on a brand name is growing at levels exceeding the level of general inflation.

If the donut hole is closed as the new promises of the law are fulfilled by 2020, older people will still pay 25% of their total spending on medicines under Medicare D if they do not have insurance to supplement or replace Medicare.
