Pregnancy changes everything. You no longer live only for yourself. Now you are responsible for the new life within yourself. And almost everything you do affects a growing child. When it comes to nutrition, this is especially true. You know how you gently rub your growing belly — everything that you eat goes up to the child that is developing inside you.
But what if it doesn't matter how carefully you eat, Do you also pass on to your child one of the deadliest toxins in the world?
This can be very good. But, fortunately, new research shows that there can be a simple and natural way to protect you and your child.
You do not want your child to have this prenatal food
Several years ago, women were horrified to find that a careful and thorough diet selection, their breast milk contained traces of several environmental toxins, including dioxin.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), dioxin is an extremely toxic chemical. It is associated with cancer, reproductive problems and immune problems. It violated hormones and impediments to the healthy development of the fetus. And it found our food supply - especially in meat, dairy products, eggs and seafood.
No mother is safe from this contamination. Although levels of dioxins in breast milk have been decreasing in studies conducted in the European Union, WHO has found dioxin in breast milk worldwide.
However, there are some things you can do to help minimize the penetration of dioxin into your body and contaminate the food you pass on to your child.
Reduce the risk of prenatal and postnatal dioxin in your child.
First, you can eat less animal products. Dioxin is persistent, difficult to digest and disposed of. It accumulates in animal fats. So the higher you eat the food chain, the more dioxins you will get.
In one study in South Africa, researchers were surprised that black women had lower dioxin levels than white women. They realized that, since white women tend to be in higher income, they also consume more meat, dairy products and eggs. Black South African women tend to eat a higher diet in grains and vegetables with fewer animal products. Here they consume less dioxins in their diets. [1] Similarly, German women who were vegetarians had lower levels of dioxins than German women who did not. [2]
However, vegetarian women still find dioxin in their breast milk. And, according to the researchers, no dioxin level is safe or healthy.
For this reason, all pregnant and lactating women - both vegetarians and omnivores - consider adding a special supplement to your prenatal vitamins ... Chlorella.
New research shows prenatal supplement with chlorella lowers dioxin levels
In Japan, dioxin is of particular concern due to the high consumption of seafood, most of which are contaminated by it.
Concerned that dioxin levels are transmitted to newborns, a group of Japanese researchers set about studying how chlorella can help pregnant women as a prenatal supplement. Researchers measured dioxin levels in 44 pregnant women, looking at their placenta, umbilical cord blood, breast milk, blood and fat. Then they divided the women into two groups. One group began to supplement chlorella during pregnancy.
They found that women who added chlorella were 30% less dioxin in breast milk than women who did not. And they had 26% less dioxin in their cord blood - the blood that flows between the mother and child through the umbilical cord. [3]
The second study gave even more encouraging results ...
Again, the group of pregnant women was divided into two groups. Half of the women, supplemented with 6 grams of chlorella every day for six months, starting from the 12th to 16th week of their pregnancy. They are complemented by chlorella at each meal.
In this study, not only women who took chlorella, had almost 50% less dioxin and other pollutants in breast milk compared with the control group, but they had an extra gift for their children. Their breast milk contained more immunoglobulin A antibodies - a key part of infants, developing an immune system - than breast milk of women who did not supplement. [4]
The high levels of protein, chlorophyll, B vitamins, lutein and other essential vitamins and minerals Chlorella provides an amazing range of nutrition for a growing child. But, as these studies show, its prenatal benefits can be even more ... According to researchers, chlorella can help limit the amount of dioxins that your body absorbs and help your body cut it faster. As a result, your child will be exposed to fewer dioxins.
Protect your child from dioxin with chlorella
After some debate, experts usually conclude that women should continue to breastfeed their babies, even if their breast milk is contaminated with dioxin. Health experts agree on the nutritional and immunological benefits of breast milk, which far outweigh the potential disadvantages of dioxin contamination.
But now you do not need to agree to such a compromise when it comes to the health of your child. As these studies show, chlorella can help your body get rid of dioxin and other pollutants that you do not want inside you or your child. Even better, it offers you outstanding nutrition to you and your child.
With chlorella as part of your prenatal nutritional plan, you can be sure that you are giving your child a better start.
