
The cough may be acute or chronic. A sharp cough covers a gap of 2–3 weeks and is usually associated with a cold and flu. Chronic cough more than 2-3 weeks. The cough consists of three phases: inhalation, forced expiration against a closed slit and the opening of the glottis, accompanied by a quick, strong release of air from the lungs. The release of air is usually accompanied by sound, and coughing can be voluntary or involuntary.
Simple and Natural Home Remedies for Cough
The following are some of the simplest and best natural remedies for relieving cough, nasal congestion, and throat irritation.
1. By rubbing slightly heated mustard oil on the back, a chest can give relief from associated symptoms, such as back pain, congested nose, etc.
2. You can boil the eucalyptus leaves in water and inhale the steam, covering the head with a towel. This therapy soothes throat irritation, blocks nose and cough.
3. Rubbing eucalyptus oil or a balm on the nose, throat, and head can also provide some relief.
4. Sipping a small amount of warm water when you feel coughing can prevent coughing.
5. Grapes function as an expectorant and regular use of grapes tones the lungs and reduces cough.
6. Sucking a piece of lemon, filled with black pepper and salt, is a good way to check for cough.
7. A pinch of chopped white pepper, added to one teaspoon of honey, can be taken three times a day. It helps cure cough.
8. Warm spinach juice can be used for rinsing. It is an effective treatment for cough.
9. Mix half a spoonful of cuscus grass, 4 teaspoons of coconut milk and one teaspoon of honey can be taken every night before bedtime. It relieves dry cough.
10. A mixture of belleric meat mass of mirobalan, long pepper and one teaspoon of honey is beneficial in the treatment of cough.
11. A mixture of onion juice and honey can be taken four times a day to get cough-free.
12. Pasta, obtained chopped almonds, and adding butter and sugar to it can be taken twice a day. It is an effective cough remedy.
