Autism - what you need to know! -2

When my son was diagnosed with autism for the first time, 22 years ago there was very little information. Therefore, I spend every free moment exploring it myself in the hope of finding the right doctor to work with him. Over time, my son developed some autoimmune dysfunctions, and I began to wonder if there was a connection between this and autism.

Sometimes I stumbled upon an article by Dr. Michael Goldberg, Pediatrician and Autism Specialist in California. He believed that there was a connection between autism and neuroimmune / autoimmune dysfunction. Well, I wanted this doctor to see my son. But, like life, he was in California, and I live in New York.

About a week later I received a leaflet from one of the Autism newsletters, which reported that Dr. Goldberg was giving a presentation in New York! I could not believe it! I went to the presentation, and everything he said made perfect sense. Then a “miracle” happened! Dr. Goldberg agreed to treat several children in New York. Well, I immediately subscribed!

Dr. Goldberg visited New York every month and rented a hotel room where he saw his patients on the East Coast. We followed his protocol, which helped strengthen my son's immune system through diet, antifungals, antiviral drugs, and all sorts of other things. My son was constantly moving forward.

In the end, Dr. Goldberg could not make the trip to New York physically, so we continued with his monthly phone calls and blood work. I learned so much from him and am very grateful to him for everything he did to help my son.

He recently agreed to an interview with me. I thought it would be a great way to share what I learned from him with other parents and teachers.

In this interview, Dr. Goldberg discusses:

- how neuro-immune and autoimmune dysfunctions are associated with autism - a connection between autism, attention deficit disorder and chronic fatigue syndrome - An epidemic of autism that is growing, and what we can do to help - how certain viruses affect the immune system and how to treat them - what he discovered through the use of SPECTscans - his opinions about vaccines - his treatment protocol - how parents can get help - and much more!

Dr. Goldberg is dedicated to raising public awareness about the likely link between neuro-immune and / or autoimmune dysfunction and conditions such as autism, ADD, Alzheimer's disease, ALS, CFS / CFIDS, MS and other immune-mediated diseases.

He is the director of the non-profit medical board of NIDS and the Research Institute. The NIDS Institute seeks to facilitate access to treatment options and research for families suffering from these diseases.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Goldberg for his help in making my son a productive, creative, and happy member of society.
