Medical Administrative Assistant Certification (CMAA) considered the gold standard for medical assistants in administrative matters, aka medical. CMAA exam prerequisites
- High School Diploma or Equivalence
- Written evidence of the recent completion of the assistant medical training program or more than one year of field experience.
CMAA Exam Registration
- Candidates who participate in the approved school programs of the Association of National Medical Institutions may take the test on test sites.
- Candidates who are eligible to take the exam, but do not participate in school programs, register for the exam online and sit on the exam at the PSI / Lasergrade test sites.
Payment and cancellation policy

There are no refunds for certification exams unless the National Health Commission cancels the planned exam date.
However, exam fees may be transferred to a new date for up to six months from the original date. All exams
must be rescheduled in 24 hours to avoid additional costs.
Exam format and content
There are three exam formats:
- Paper / pencil exam
- Internet Testing Testing
- Computer Exam at the PSI / Lasergrade Center.
The “Paper” and “Pencil” examinations, as well as tested online testing, are offered at the National School of Public Health, which is recognized as a school program of test sites. The PSI Computer Exam is mainly offered to people who do not participate in the above school programs.
The exam lasts 110 minutes, and there are 110 items with multiple choices.
