Paroxysmal itching on the nose, soreness, stretching, sneezing and large amounts of nasal mucus, which is clear and watery in consistency, intermittent grayish-white nasal obstruction and possible accompanying fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, reluctance to speak, loss of appetite, full stools, fear of cold and chilled limbs, backache, frequent nocturnal urination, pale red tongue with thin white fur and small pulse.

Strengthen the spleen and increase chi, dissipate cold and open portals or openings (that is, clear the nostrils of the mucus).

* 9 g Herba Menthae Haplocalycis (Bo He)
* 9 g Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Sheng Ma)
* 9 g Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chen Pi)
* 9 g Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Bai Zhu)
* 9 g Mix-Fried Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao)
* 9 g Radix Bupleri (Chai Hu)
* 15 g Radix Angelicae Dahuricae (Bai Zhi)
The above amounts are a single dose that must be cleaned in water. This formula is intended to be treated during an acute attack. Then, depending on the nature and symptoms of the individual patient, this basic formula is modified with various additions and subtractions.
If a light qi vacuity is noted, increase the dose of Radix Astragali to 30 g / l oz and add 9 g of Radix Ledebouriellae Divaricatae (Fang Feng).
If there is a simultaneous stretching of the abdominal cavity and loose stools, add 15 g per 1/2 oz Semen Dolichoris Lablab (Bai Bian Dou) and 18 g Semen Coicis Lachryma-jobi (Yi Yi Ren).
If there is back pain and frequent urination at night, add 6 g of Rhizoma Curculiginis Orchioidis (Xi'an Mao) and 6 g of Radix Lateralis Praeparatus Aconiti Carmichaeli (Fu Zi) or administrator Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan (Golden Cabinet Kidney Qi Pills).
If the soft tissue inside the nose is swollen, add 15 g per 1/2 oz Radix Rubrus Paeoniae Lactiflorae (Chi Shao), 9 g Radix Ligustici Wallichii (Chuan Xiong) and 9 g Fructus Liquidambaris Taiuaniae (Lu Tong).
If the amount of transparent mucous membrane of the nose is abundant, add 9 g Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis (Wu Wei Zi), 9 g Fructus Pruni Mume (Wu Mei) and 3 g Herba Asari Cum Radice (Xi Xin).
