On the same day, the school bully will record you in your locker or take you on a walk home from school. Now is the day, bullying is much less physical. Unfortunately, with the creation of the Internet, hooligans begin to mentally bully children through online threats and constant negative communication through programs such as MySpace, Facebook, Formspring, text messages, email, and Internet chat rooms. The Missouri School Board Association added Cyber Bullying to its school policy and has since seen a decline in cyberbullying.
Schools are working to punish children who cyber bully others, even from their homes. This applies to many people who say that the school has no right to control children at home. This is quite a big power for schools. Because most cyber bullying happens after school hours when children return home from school and start surfing the Internet. They are sent to their MySpace, instant messages and Facebook and receive a rating from online hooligans. This makes children afraid to go to school and worry about it every day. This is a huge stress for students, and sometimes in extreme cases leads to suicide.
Schools are trying to fight this because they don’t want their students exposed to cyber bullies. In some ways, domestic mockery is directly related to the school, as both students attend the same school, and a bullying student is afraid to attend school. Since it is so connected with the school, why shouldn't the school control it outside the school? If this new law began to protect our students and keep safe from cyber bullying at school and at home, how can a school with more power really affect us negatively?
People are more concerned about the fact that they believe that the school has no right to follow what children do outside of school hours. This would be a normal statement for anyone who could do, but by punishing students for mockery of others outside the school, it would be beneficial. The only thing that can be done by using more power is to give schools the feeling that they can begin to control more of what children outside of school are doing. This will become a problem of freedom and will negatively affect students, making them feel that they are always in school and regularly monitored, which hinders their independence. Monitoring cyber-bullying outside of school is not an abuse of power, but a program designed to protect our children and make cyber bullying a reality. This happens, and sometimes fatally.
By adding anti-cyber bullying to school policies, he causes cyber-mockery of the people, forcing parents, teachers and students to become more aware of this. At the very least, adding it to politics can help parents better monitor the online activities of their children and prevent cyber-mockery from happening to their children.
