Dhulikhel - Himalayan Species, Village Culture and Stunning Landscape -2

Dhulikhel is a natural and culturally rich place for tourists seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and the perfect stopover on the way to the Tibetan border. With a ridge with a breathtaking view of the eastern Himalayas, the city is easily accessible from Kathmandu along the Arniko Highway, now it is a modern road; It was once an ancient trade route, where Dulichel was the main trading center between Kathmandu, Tibet and India.

Historically, Dulichel is a new settlement. Newars is the ethnic group of Nepal, inhabiting the Kathmandu valley. They are renamed to their outstanding craftsmanship and woodcarving, as can be seen in all the traditional houses around the old town and beautiful times and in the bazaars of the market. Newars are also arguably the oldest and most traditional of the ethnic groups in Nepal and have a culture based solely on religion, celebrated with the festival calendar, which even disgraces New Orleans.

In Dulihel

In addition to the breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, stretching from Langtan to Everest and beyond, there are many interesting places in the city. Take a short walk and immerse yourself in the heart of the old city, where you can lose yourself in time into a tangle of cobbled streets, discover old houses with sagging wood framing, intricate carvings, hidden temples and thriving market squares. Discover the color and culture of this vibrant place when you wander through the old people smoking pipes, women's cotton dope, traditional wood workshops and hidden gardens through ancient arches. East of the city, past the local art gallery, you can find a picnic spot and relax for a while before climbing the Khazar Sindhi (a thousand steps) to the Kali Temple, where you can be inspired by the snowy peaks towering over the steep-terraced foothills .

Around Dulichel

Dhulichel is a great place to rely on yourself as a calmer, less polluted option than the capital Kathmandu. The quiet atmosphere and spacious hotels and resorts leave Dhulichel open as a tourist destination, which certainly stands out in Nepal. There are many opportunities in the area to entertain yourself, and this is also an ideal place from which to go hiking in the areas of Langtang or Everest.

Namo Buddha Trek - a full day hike will lead you to the loop from the resort and through the picturesque village villages along the ridge above Dhulihel to Namo Buddha - a sacred place for Buddhists. This revered stupa and monastery is set in the place where Buddha Shakyamuni fed his flesh to the hungry Tigress. The scene is elegantly depicted in stone carving found in a small temple on the top of a hill.

Whitewater Rafting - one of Nepal’s most famous rivers, the Sunkoshi, is just a few steps from the resort. Take a day trip on this impressive river as it creeps in through steep ravines and open valleys in agriculture, with plenty of adrenaline pumping thresholds to keep your mind at work! Return to the resort in time to set fire to a spectacular sunset over the Himalayas.

Panauti - A few hours of trekking or a short trip will take you to Panauti, another Newar settlement and an interesting rural village. The temple complex here sits on a hill of three rivers, one of which is mystical. The incoherent overgrown temples are interesting places to explore.

The Bhagwati Temple is only half an hour. the drive will take you to the temple of eighteen armed goddesses Bhagwati. Here you can spend time exploring the temple or walking about two hours to the Panchal valley.

Tatopani Hot Spring - head to the Tibetan border and soak up the hot spring amidst lush subtropical jungles.

Jiri - make a night trip to Jiri, hiking gateways in the Everest region. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and traditional rural villages.

Dhulikhel certainly has something to offer as a place to visit and stay in its own right, and this is a very preferred option for Kathmandu.
