Electrical Engineer - Career Information -2

The specialty of an electrical engineer is the ability to use the theory of electronics and electricity to create devices and systems that benefit society as a whole. This type of expertise is needed in a variety of industries, such as telecommunications, power generation, power electronics, biomedical engineering and circuitry. The demand for the production and distribution of electricity is the main source of many opportunities for beginning electrical engineers. The high demand for a specific knowledge base and skill set of this discipline is also explained by the growing demand for high-tech devices, such as smartphones and tablets. An engineer with the necessary qualifications will find many opportunities to choose from the labor market. The demand for engineers is partly due to the expansion of the telecommunications industry and aging engineers working in these divisions, who are either going to retire or are moving to a higher level of management. Another reason for the demand is that over the past few years the number of engineers who have completed this specialty has decreased. It is interesting to note that the salary of an electrical engineer is actually one of the three most highly paid different equipment.

To start an engineering career and work as an engineer in training (EIT), you must first complete a bachelor's degree in engineering. This four-year professional degree can be completed at any accredited college or university that offers an engineering program.

Before you can work as a professional engineer, you must pass an ethics exam and undergo special training under the guidance of a senior engineer. If you are not yet ready to start your career, the alternative course of action is to go back to school and get a master’s degree and possibly even a doctor’s degree after that if you are interested in becoming a professor. A master's and doctorate degree increases your career opportunities and increases the salary you receive, but it is important to note that the basic requirements are a bachelor's degree and a license, as discussed earlier.

As soon as you receive this professional degree, you should choose a job in such areas as telecommunications, energy, biomedicine, microelectronics. The demand for electrical engineering is high in all these disciplines. Depending on your level of skill and ability to perform the duties and responsibilities required by a particular job, wages can be extremely useful. A recent study found that average income ranges from $ 80,000 to $ 100,000 a year. Salary depends entirely on the experience and ability of the engineer in his or her specialization. Primary and academic positions are usually paid at least $ 48,000 per year. If an engineer has a master’s degree or a doctorate in electrical engineering, their income will be considered higher at all levels of employment than someone who has only a bachelor’s degree.
