Home remedies for laryngitis - simple remedies for treating a horse -2

There are a number of home remedies for laryngitis that can help relieve this hoarse throat. Laryngitis is often caused by either an upper respiratory tract infection or an extension of your vocal cords. When we use our voice, the vocal cords vibrate to produce sound. Laryngitis occurs when these vocal cords become irritated or swollen.

Here are a few ingredients in your kitchen that can help relieve symptoms.

Dietary home remedies

Coffee without coffee with lemon. Almost any tea will work. Make sure you add lemon, although this will help increase the flow of saliva.

Water. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is a great way to keep your throat hydrated.

Ginger. Drinking a cup of ginger tea or sucking some candied ginger can help calm the inflated mucous membranes of the larynx. To make tea, cut a 2-inch piece of ginger root into slices and cook in 1 quart of water. Give it to boil for about 30 minutes, strain and drink.

Vinegar. Rinsing with vinegar can help clear any infections. Vinegar is acidic and can kill these infectious organisms. Take an equal amount of vinegar and water in a cup and mix into a cup. Rinse 2-4 times a day.

Salt. Rinsing with salt water helps heal infected vocal cords and sore throat.

Lemon. Lemon is sour and helps stimulate the flow of saliva. Do not try to suck the lemon yourself. Instead, mix lemon juice with salt water to create a rinse.

Steam A dry internal environment can make your sore throat worse. Boil a pot of water, put a towel on your head and inhale steam for 10 minutes.

Some lifestyle changes that also help to avoid smoking, caffeine and excess alcohol, as this all more irritates the infected vocal cords. These are just a few home remedies for laryngitis that can immediately bring relief to these bloated voice connections.
