In the last article in this series, we discussed that there are many very different homogeneous types that modern EMTs use as their daily uniform. From a more professional class A look at more dressed polo and t-shirts looks, of course, a variety when it comes to EMS Uniforms. As we studied this area a little bit, we also found that some EMS specialists are not very happy with the lack of standardization in their uniforms. Some ems forums, discussion boards and blogs discuss a lot about why they like and don’t like some types of uniforms, and some discussions about what form can be a good standard for ems professionals. We will help explore some of these ideas here in this second part of the series.
So first, let's start with the popular A / B look at the button on a poly or poly / cotton shirt. The advantage is that it looks very professional and requires respect as knowledgeable about what they are doing. Disadvantages a little. Firstly, they are not as comfortable as polo or t-shirts, especially during long shifts. In general, EMT feel stuffy and not so free in its range of motion to do a good job. In addition, in the summer months, this form could feel very warm.
Secondly, it is difficult to distinguish this form from a law enforcement officer. This may seem trivial at first glance, but it can harm the health of workers if the general public cannot determine who you are very quickly. Another common complaint is that it is difficult for them to stay clean and professional, who are looking for long periods of time, requiring them to clean them more often and spend more time ironing, etc. They are also more expensive than polo and t-shirts, and may require additional to make them suitable.
Ok, so look at the polo shirts. Obviously, they do not look as professional as shirts with buttons, but many ems professionals believe that they look professional enough as long as the wearer puts it on correctly (keep it in a stand, keep it free and clean). As we have said, they breathe much more than buttons, and it is more convenient to wear for long shifts. There is a possibility for stains a little more than shirt buttons due to fabrics, but most EMT shirts to look should have teflon protector fabrics to reduce such accidents. Polo shirts can also be very recognizable because they can have large letters EMT, EMS or PARAMEDIC attached to the back of the shirt through patches or silk screen printing. They usually do not have as many pockets on their shirts as Class A shirts, but usually have a pocket for a pen and a pocket for a microphone.
On t-shirts. These shirts have a lot of the same advantages for polo. They are comfortable. They can be highly identifiable with a silkscreen lettering or a star of life on the front and back sides. They can support EMT cooling while working under pressure. But some EMTs have a real problem with the fact that a T-shirt is their main form all the time. This is simply not professional enough, and it does not convey the authority that these professionals should deserve in treating patients and interacting with the public.
Some paramedics and EMT wear coveralls or coveralls. These uniforms have the advantage that they look pretty neat all the time, but are also very functional and give the worker agility. They do not need to constantly hide their shirt in their pants. Jumpsuits also come with many pockets, something EMTs usually want, as you can tell with a pair of EMT pants. One of the problems with overalls is that they are not so comfortable to use after long periods of time, and most users admit that they are very warm.
Another idea that seems to occur several times is the use of scrubs. Since many other health professionals, such as nurses and doctors, wear bushes for their daily work, some EMT and medical assistants have suggested that they should also use scrubs, as they are very good at helping them with the work they do. And if you take into account that the general public already knows what a man is in the style of working with bushes, this makes them quite recognizable at the scene of the scene rather quickly. Some parties to wear scrubs are something that many believe that they do not look professional at all and are not as durable and durable as they should be for regular paramedic work that is done on the street. Some believe that they look like wearing pajamas.
In the next article in this series, we will look at another aspect of the uniform that often arises when it comes to the standardized form of EMT, which we haven’t talked about yet, and that is color. Be in touch.
