Who wants to be branded a bank in our economy with drugs? Not who I know. This is a cost tag derived from the stereotype of those who abuse cannabis, but usually do not think they are.
Ominous drug mental construction, placed on cannabis, dates back only to 81 years in the United States. One man, Harry Anslinger, did it.
The birth of drug wars
Back in 1930, Harry Anslinger became the first Commissioner in the US Federal Drug Enforcement Bureau, which we now know as the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). History says that he did not initially oppose marijuana, generally speaking, “there is no more absurd mistake” about harming people and provoking it to violence. (1) That is ... until he became a commissioner.
The ban on alcohol was soon to end, and therefore it turned out that, despite the fact that Anslinger decided to quit marijuana in heroin and cocaine for the sake of the safety of his work, he held a position of 32 years.
In a radio address, he claimed that what was then known as “Indian cannabis”, that young people would become “slaves to this drug addiction, continued dependence, until they die, become insane, turn into violent crimes and murder”.
Despite the little scientific evidence of his statements at the time, he ingeniously sensitized marijuana and disparaging blacks and Hispanics, in particular, as those who lead. Anslinger managed to scare the wandering Americans.
The full efforts of Commissioner Anslinger created the context of the movie “Referential Madness” in 1936 to even more frighten the American population. As the person who drafted the 1937 Marijuana Tax Law, (2) its dramatic consideration before Congress undoubtedly influenced its passage.
In addition, Anslinger found a significant ally in William Randolph Hurst, the media empire of Hurst, who provided the platform and voice of the anti-Indian hemp Anslinger. (3) Some say that Hearst shared with Anslinger to protect his own lumber interests from potential competition from industrial cannabis.
The marijuana medical call continues
Today, cannabis is a “List I” drug compared to heroin and others, which are said to “do not currently take medical care in the United States.” However, this official statement flies in the face of the same correct understanding of evidence-based benefits. Pure hypocrisy.
How so? In 2003, US Patent No. 6,630,507 was awarded to the US Department of Health and Human Services. (4) This is a patent for the potential use of cannabinoids of plants found in cannabis sativas, which are not psychoactive, and for the stated purpose of protecting the brain in case of damage and degenerative diseases.
Although 29 states and Washington, DC, have legalized medical marijuana, there are many restrictions in which some states are cannabidiol (CBD), while others have no cannabis regulations. When you have a chance, watch this video, The life she deserves: medical marijuana created by the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC.
What more evidence might be than an amazing recovery for the girl in the video. Cannabis is a plant for God's sake. This is what Willie Nelson says:
“I think people need to be taught that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is grass and flower. God said God is wrong? "
