Natural xanthine oxygenase inhibitors may help reduce urine acid -2

Natural xanthine oxygenase inhibitors can be part of a gout treatment regimen. There are three very powerful and safe agents that have the effects of XOI, casein protein, green tea leaf extract and resveratrol from Japanese salmon root.

Casein, which is a non-purine protein, has been shown to increase the amount of uric acid excreted in the urine, the uricosuric effect. The researchers tested these effects in several studies. These studies have demonstrated in clinical trials that, in addition to the well-known uricosuric effect of casein, by increasing the excretion of uric acid, protein can actually reduce the concentration of UA serum in the blood. This reduction in UA levels can significantly help reduce the frequency and severity of gout attacks.

Casein is a significant proportion of protein in milk. This milk protein is an excellent source of many essential amino acids. Casein is a slowly digestible protein, which is very beneficial in view of its uric acid recovery properties. Interestingly, this protein, although well versed in the organs of the body, has not yet been used as a natural agent for gout.

Green tea contains a high level of catechins, in which epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is most common among other types of catechins. Their antioxidant effect contributes to the various potential health benefits of green tea. In several in vitro studies, it was found that green tea inhibits the activity of xanthine oxidase and the subsequent production of uric acid.

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, taking 250-500 milligrams of green tea extract daily or drinking 2 to 4 cups of tea made from green tea leaves can help control the symptoms of gout. However, additional clinical studies are needed to determine the effect of long-term use of green tea and to establish safe dose ranges.

It is interesting to note that the FDA approved a human clinical trial in the United States that will study the effect of green tea leaf extract on gout.

Resveratrol from Japanese salmon root, an extremely potent polyphenol compound, has been demonstrated in vitro to be able to directly inhibit the activity of xanthine oxidase and thus block the overproduction of uric acid. The researchers investigated the ability to absorb the free radicals of resveratrol, its effect on the activity of xanthine oxidase (XO). Resveratrol showed a dose-dependent activity of free radicals, a significant inhibitory activity of XO and anti-lipoperoxidative ability.

It is important to consider natural agents to reduce hyperuricemia, which take into account the ingredients of uricosuric and xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It is equally important to regularly check the level of uric acid, as prescribed by your doctor.
