GIVES PRAYER TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE?

Depending on the customs and religious observations of the congregation, they talk with God in different ways. In most places of worship, congregations pray out loud or chant. This “verbal noise” creates energy when communicating with God or a Higher Power. This energy allows us to communicate between us and a force greater than ourselves.

A question from Jet Magazine of August 31, 1998 is whether prayer can lower blood pressure in patients with high blood pressure. The magazine reported on a study conducted by the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. The study included more than 4,000 participants over the age of 65 and found that those who pray and attend religious services on a weekly basis, especially between the ages of 65 and 74, had lower blood pressure than their colleagues who did not pray or attend religious service. They found that the more religious a person is, especially those who prayed or studied the Bible weekly, the lower their blood pressure. According to the study, these people were 40% less likely to have high diastolic pressure or diastolic hypertension than those who did not attend religious services, prayed or studied the Bible.

I have seen a lot of research, trying to evaluate the power of prayer. It seems that when people pray for the sick, it does not matter much. However, when a “sick person” believes in the power of prayer and prayer regularly, this belief makes a difference. This person is generally healthier than the unbeliever, as a whole.
