Some may think of the profession of a medical assistant as a different job, while others have never heard of this career. Medical Assistant or Pennsylvania is a relatively new profession. As a rule, PA programs, such as their applicants, have at least two years of appropriate medical care. What this means is that he worked as a health worker, nurse, paramedic, respiratory therapists, etc. Volunteering, medical design, coding, office type of work are not considered relevant medical experience. They are looking for people with patient hands on the type of experience.
In addition to the experience, a potential applicant must be in good academic condition. There are preliminary classes that must be completed before the application. Each program is slightly different, but usually they want anatomy and physiology, English, biology, microbiology and chemistry. Most programs require a bachelor's degree. There are a few remaining, which are not, but soon they will all need some bachelor's degree.
When you are finished, the application process itself will be the most difficult. This is the most difficult process, because now you have to compete with five hundred other applicants for about 50 places in the class. Therefore, your application must be a star! It starts with a personal statement.
Your personal statement is what separates you from others. Applicants have a high GPA level and extensive medical experience, but only one person can stand out from a personal narrative about themselves and why they want to be a physician assistant. Pay close attention to the questions asked and do a lot of research and proofreading before submitting your application.
The second most difficult is the interview. If you are invited to an interview, there is something in your application that has made you worthy of the PA profession. Now the selection committee wants to meet you in person and see if you make a good PA. They will ask you questions, personal questions, sometimes to find out about your character. Think about it, no one wants a hungry money provider to overload patients. When interviewers ask you questions, they only ask them one question: “Would I want this person to take care of me and my family?” After you make a decision, you will encounter two more problems.
First, it is two years of intensive research. The school of a medical assistant is designed in the same way as a medical school through which doctors pass, only it shrinks to two and a half years instead of four.
The final challenge is the certification exam. It consists of 600 questions. It's a little shorter than doctors have to take, which is 800 questions. When this obstacle is completed, you are now a licensed PA practitioner.
As anyone can see, the path to becoming a Certified Medical Assistant is not easy. This requires a lot of experience and a college degree to be able to apply to the PA program.
