Centuries of multilingual, bazaars, hundreds of years along the dusty caravan roads were sold to European silks and precious stones, spices and dyes, gold and silver, exotic birds and animals to the south.
The journey along the Silk Road is one of the most significant achievements in the history of world civilization. The longest part of the Silk Road passed through the territory of Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan. On the road, caravans began to emerge and flourish in rich cities, commercial and handicraft settlements, and sheds of caravans. Turkmenistan - Merv; Uzbekistan - Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench, Khiva. And, like two communicating ships, such a different civilization began to pour their knowledge into each other. The arteries connecting the vessels were trade routes. For him, not only the goods that became the subject of trade for centuries became agents of culture, science, technology and religion. Central Asia, located between China and India in the east, between Persia and Arabia in the south, the European world in the west, the Volga and Siberia in the north, almost two thousand years standing at the crossroads of trade routes.
One of the first who described this trade route, historians believe that the Chinese diplomat Zhang Qian, who lived in the I century BC. The fact that during this period Central Asia became involved in trade relations with China demonstrates a large number of Chinese coins, bronze mirrors, silk fabrics, remnants, fragments of porcelain dishes made in China, discovered during archaeological excavations. Under the influence of China, sericulture and paper production began to develop in Central Asia, and from Central Asia, China started growing grapes, alfalfa, onions, cotton, pomegranate, walnuts, fig trees and cucumbers.
The humble servant of Florence Bardi Francesca Pagolotti returned in 1355 after eight years away from home in Italy, as his shoulders were thousands of Chinese, Arab and European farces miles of the Great Silk Road. He was the author of the volume "The practice of trading or treating land division, trade measures and other things, information necessary for merchants of all countries."
