What is general internal medicine? -2

Internal medicine is one of the main specialties of medicine. These major specialties include surgery, ob-gyn and pediatrics. Many sub-specifics are derived from general internal medicine. These sub-specifics may be oriented oriented cardiology or nephrology; immunology oriented system; age oriented as geriatric medicine or condition oriented as a cure for pregnancy.
General internal medicine covers all aspects of the pathology of adolescents, adults and the elderly (this does not apply to children). It is neither surgical nor invasive. It treats all sexes without discrimination and covers every disease of each organ that is unacceptable for medical (non-surgical) treatment, especially complex diseases of several organs with or without comorbidities.

The preferred level of attention of general internal medicine is curative or “secondary prevention”, although the therapists have the knowledge and training for primary attention.
Internal medicine can treat medical pathologies (non-obstetric) of pregnant women and medical complications associated with surgery and anesthesia.

Internal medicine has a solid foundation in epidemiology and evidence-based medicine, its careless goal is not the attention of a large population, but the patient himself using a bio-psycho-social model.

Internal medicine has up-to-date information about medical technologies, without abusing this technology, because its basis is clinical practice. Therefore, he uses semiology and complements it with therapeutic agents.

General internal medicine unites and serves as a link to its sub-specialty. Like any other major specialty, he has provided many departments for his practice, development and existence, as the amount of knowledge and therapeutic procedures is growing. No one should ever see an internist performing cardiac catheterism or digestive endoscopy; these procedures are reserved for their relative sub-specifications.

General internal medicine is more important in this model of super-specialization, which is fueled by all technological changes and the growth of medical knowledge, so that patients do not become “collectors of specialists”. In this model of medical superspecialization, therapists confirm the integrative and universal spirit of internationalism in accordance with the trends towards a complex and mutually complementary vision of life in all its manifestations. The internist’s goal is to prevent and resolve more than 80% of the patient’s medical problems in order to understand all the corners of their patient’s pathologies and to know the interaction of treatment for their various problems, coordinating these procedures, taking the best from each of the specialties and striving for the patient’s vision is not a bag organisms, and a complex being with soul, body, mind and family.
