The following - the true story - this interview was the task for my “Normal Motherhood” course. I entered the assignment, feeling that it was a busy job. I learned more about how empowered women feel that they have a natural birth.
Names in history are fictitious to protect their privacy.
May this short true story give women a chance for a successful natural birth.
Enjoy the story!
At 10 am, on April Fool's Day, Aimee had a deceiver in his arms - well, rather, in the stomach. Little Sam wanted, as he could imagine, how popular his birthday would be among his buddies. Aimee didn't have it. She is not such as to allow her to deceive her, and her second son, who was still to be born, was not going to pull the final prank.
In the solitude of the house, Aimee caressed while reading her books, knowing that if she didn’t do anything, then April 1 would pass without her delivery.
At 10 pm the contracts really began to come. As an experienced mother already knew, she knew that the contracts were not close enough. At 5 am fights were intense and approached at a distance of 5 minutes from each other. Ugh, she got to April 2nd.
Amy and her husband Scott crammed into their car with their first son, Spencer, who was 10 years old. Automobile wheels stopped at a Swedish hospital where they all drove up to the maternity ward. After 10 minutes in the ward, Scott left with Spencer. Scott had to leave to pick up the Spencer / ADHD medication.
Kicker - Scott, and Spencer never returned. Scott ended up with Raytalin leaving him in a cloud 9, Spencer is inconsiderate and his wife without him in labor.
Amy was not alone. Her younger nagging sister, whom she did not want, was there. Aimee's sister was not there for support; rather, she was there when Amy wanted her to witness a natural birth. Little sis had two previous c-sections, and Aimee, hell, was going to have a natural birth, no matter how.
And her chances were high: support for her husband, nagging sister, placenta previa, 242 pounds, full intestines and bleeding through pregnancy.
Struggling with disagreements, Aimee had the strength from the presence of her friend. However, her main strength was eliminated due to her previous uncomplicated delivery of her first boy Spencer. Loaded with juice from epidural anemia, Aimee simply leaned back when the nurses and doctors manually pushed the baby out when peak cuts appeared on the monitor. She felt nothing. Aimee stated that she simply felt that she had pulled grapes.
The first birth experience did not qualify as Aime’s experience — at least not in terms of her participation. The doctors were under control, and she was completely passive. This is not Amy, and she knew it. She wanted to be there - in feeling, spirit, pain and pleasure.
Thus, with disagreements against her, she maintained the hope of a natural delivery. Her agent told her a week before her due date that the child could have enough space to break through naturally. She took it as a green light.
Amy was attended by a nurse who worked at the School of Maternity since October of the same year, and did so for 18 months. Remarkably during these 18 months, her nurse did not witness a single natural birth. Aimee was supposed to be her first.
Ami remained in control, breathing rhythmically. She noticed that there was an inscription with concentric rings above her, and she used this as a guide for breathing. Then the nurse entered at noon and dimmed the light of Amy. She was unhappy.
To make things more interesting, Aimee told her that she had a strong desire to defecate. The nurse stated that this was not an option, and she would have to keep it. The nurse and doctor later learned that Aimee was not joking.
Amy was started on Pitocina because she did not progress. Her contractions became closer, stronger and harder. After a couple of hours Pitocin led to the delivery time.
Doc and the nurses demanded that she push even without compression - they wanted to go home. This time, Aimee did not hide her demands. Without an epidural and with determination, Aimee pierced the intense ring fire.
On peak contracts, all 242 pounds of Aimee began to pull with all their might. Her dock was ready to pack. Little did he know that he would be three times three times before Sam's child came. Step 1, he caught a full shower of amniotic fluid. Pitch 2, Aimee completely evacuated her intestines due to the pressure of the baby. Pitch 3, the doctor almost broke free, but managed to catch the fast pace ejected by Aimee. Little Sam shot so fast that the dock wore it only with a tiny ankle.
Quick wipe, and then Aimee a beautiful 8lb 6 ounces, 21-inch boy was laid on the chest at 2 pm on April 2.
Emotions were all over for Aimee. While she was very pleased with her new boy and her amazing achievement, she was very sad and outraged by the absence of her husband. He could not testify his wife to the strongest and most verifying moment. These were their biggest precipitations, and her husband was in the center of rehabilitation for drug addicts a couple of months after the birth of his second son. It was a treatment center or door. Fortunately, the treatment center was a success.
Aimee succeeded due to the hardest experience in her life, and she could not leave at that moment. The next morning, she returned home with a new baby, breastfed, treated her huge vaginal hematoma and prepared dinner for the family.
Some time after giving birth, she had to return to the hospital with an attack of pancreatitis and inflammation of the gallbladder. She managed to breastfeed through the hospital, despite the fact that the nurses wanted to stop her. Aimee went home without a gall bladder, a scar the width of her abdomen, and found that 18 pieces of clothing needed sorting and washing.
Amy now tells her story to pregnant women, giving them the opportunity to make the avenue a natural birth. She quotes:
"I am very grateful for having done this, because now I know how strong I can be - for me it was a very proven experience."
Thanks, Aimee. You supported my wife and encouraged her fears of a natural birth. Can you continue to spread confidence in pregnant women so that they can realize their most powerful day.
