Everyone loves a puppy. When you see a puppy, is it not tempting to bring him home strong? However, there are adults who also fall into this category; they see a dog and “fall in love” and that’s it. They take a new puppy home.
Just say “NO” to this little voice that is towing in your heart to bring the puppy home or at least say “WAIT”.
Getting a puppy should be as carefully considered as adding a member to your family. Without careful consideration you will find some unpleasant surprises, for example:
1. New puppy training - preparing a puppy does not have to be difficult, some of them depend on the breed. However, this is work. It takes time and patience. Accidents happen, so be prepared.
2. New puppy care - puppies, such as children, spend time with doctors. There are vaccinations, exercise and tests. Plus, there will also be prophylactic items, such as heartworm and flea prophylaxis and tick prevention.
3. Food - they also have it. Food for the table is not the best option, and quality food can be expensive, especially depending on how large the puppy will receive.
4. Freedom. Puppies and dogs can absorb great freedom. Depending on your dog, you probably refuse to sleep on weekends. In addition, there is a family getaway, do you plan to bring your furry friend? If not, you will need to take special measures, and it may cost you a few dollars.
5. Exercise - this is not enough for your dog to run in the yard. Is the yard fenced? If not, running in the yard is probably not an option. It is not only physically important to take your dog for a walk, but also important for their mental health.
6. Diseases - like people, dogs also get sick. Some people hardly have to take their dog to the vet office, but others are not so lucky. Visits, tests, and medications all cost money, and this can be expensive.
Puppies are wonderful. A new puppy in your home can be a fantastic addition. It is documented how a dog can improve health and help increase longevity. Nevertheless, bringing a new puppy into your home, and the family is a serious decision that requires planning, thought and consideration.
