Transient Ischemic Attack - Ayurvedic Herbal Therapy-2

Temporary ischemic attack (TIA) is a temporary or intermittent neurological event that usually lasts a few minutes and leaves no permanent effects. Common symptoms include sudden weakness, numbness or paralysis of the limbs; slurred speech; blindness or double vision; dizziness; and loss of balance or coordination. Symptoms usually last less than 24 hours. TIA is usually a sign of an impending strike.

Ayurvedic treatment of TIA is aimed at controlling the risk factors for this condition and preventing a full stroke. Ayurvedic medicines can be prescribed in combination with modern medicines to control blood pressure and reduce blotting clots. Medications such as Yogradzh-Guggul, Triphala-Guggul, Medogar-Guggul, Punch-Tikta-Groote Guggul, Punarnavadi-Kadhe, Chitrakadi-Vathi arogya-Vardhini and Chandrabrabha-Vathi used to reduce atherosclerosis in the arteries and thus, reduce the risk for stroke. Herbal remedies that can be used for this condition include Guggoul (Commiphora mukul), Psyllium (Plantago ovata), Lashuna (Allium sativum), Kutki (Picrorrhiza kurroa), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Behada ( Terminalia bellerica), Sunthi (Zinziber officinalis), Marich (Piper nigrum), Pippali (Piper longum), Chavya (Piper retrofractum) and Chitrak (Plumbago zeylanica). It is also important to treat risk factors that can cause a stroke in patients suffering from TIA. Cardiovascular diseases can be treated with drugs such as Lakshmi-Vilas-Ras, Schrung-Bhasma, Arjunarisht, Dashmularisht, Abrak-Bhasma and Maha-Lakshmi-Vilas-Ras.
