The National Licensing Examination of the National Council for RN (NCLEX-RN) was developed by the NCSBN for assessing nursing knowledge and nursing skills who want to practice as a registered nurse. Licensed exams are administered by Pearson VUE, a nationally recognized testing agency, at various centers throughout the United States and a few of the country's centers. NCLEX-RN Exam Features
The Registered Nursing Licensing Exam is a Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT), and the NCSBN began offering computer tests from April 1994. NCLEX is now administered in CAT format only, and not as either a paper-pencil exam. Before the start of the exam, graduate students are provided with a textbook and instructions on using a computer to record answers to questions with multiple choice and other formats. The exam consists of 75 - 265 questions, and of these, 15 subjects do not score preliminary test questions. The licensing exam is mainly organized in four groups based on the basic needs of clients, including: a) a safe and effective care environment, b) health promotion and maintenance, c) psychosocial integrity and d) physiological integrity. Section a) is divided into two subcategories: safety and infection control and care management, while section d) consists of four subcategories: pharmacological and parenteral therapy, physiological adaptation, risk reduction, as well as basic care and comfort. Exam eligibility
The right to test is offered only to qualified candidates who are authorized by the nursing / regulatory body. Exam results
