Many medical students from all over the world strive to practice in Canada after qualifying. For this to happen, they will need to sit down and pass the Medical Council of Canada on Assessment (MCCEE). Students who are applying for this exam must be in the last 20 months of their curriculum when you are applying for enrollment. The student school must be listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED).
Prerequisite
All graduates of medical schools who have been trained internationally, as well as all osteopaths in the United States, must pass and write the MCCEE preparatory exam if they would like to be eligible for the qualification exam of the Medical Council of Canada. MCCEE is basically a general assessment of a student’s medical knowledge when it comes to the main disciplines of medicine, and it was created to assess the knowledge and skills necessary for medical students before they are allowed to enter their first year of fully supervised graduate education.
Multiple examination
Unlike many other traditional medical examinations, the MCCEE is a computerized option that consists of 180 questions based on a multiple-choice format. Each question lists five possible answers, of which students must make sure that they choose the best or correct option for each of them. The ranges of topics covered in this particular exam include adult health, maternal health, children's health, public health, and ethics and mental health. It was also formulated a few questions that relate to general practice.
Application processing
Students who wish to write this exam will be required to provide a certified copy of their passport without expiration, a certified form of identification and certification of the student, if they are medical students. Medical graduates will need to provide a copy of their final medical degree or diploma. It is important for students to remember that the entire application process may take three weeks. Although students may apply for this exam at any time of the year, specific dates are indicated during the year when they will actually be written.
Preparation for the exam day
Students participating in the MCCEE exam preparation must ensure that they have at least two copies of an identity document issued by the government, each of which must contain a photo and a signature. The names of these documents must correspond to the name that the student used to register his online MCCEE exam. Students who come to the exam site without proper identification are not allowed to write, and therefore they will also lose the fee they paid.
After the students have written their exam, they will need to leave the venue so that they can receive a notification of the completion of the test. This serves as proof that they actually wrote the exam, and all they have to do afterwards is waiting for the exam results.
