Plyometry increases speed, power, strength and fast movements. Many of the gymnastic movements are considered plyometric. This can help in your cheerleading practice because you can increase all these elements.

Plyometry perfectly complements any workout for athletes. Plyometry helps increase the speed, agility and strength of muscle contraction. In other words, you will jump higher and run faster, as my father talked about some new tours that I would get! So that the strength and power behind your jump increase your cheerleading ability for any of your routines. Especially in competitive cheerleading, your body will be entrusted with many high level jumps.

Thus, fitting any type of explosive movement into your routine is a great way to add plyometry to your workouts. For example, jumping squats are a great exercise that can be used for plyometric exercises. Using weights, you squat down, and when you get to the top, you will explode as quickly and quickly as you can.

Another great plyometric exercise you can use is weighted medicine balls. Get a comfortable weight (for example, 10 pounds or more) and use the wall in the gym. You explode when the ball throws it into the air as soon as you can. When the ball returns, be sure to catch it. Then, in one motion, press up and blow the ball out of your hands and onto the wall as high as you can toss it. This is an excellent upper body plyometric exercise.

Being a huge lover of push-ups, I have to quit this exercise as well. You will start on your knees and let your entire body fall forward and catch yourself in your palms. Throw your body down. (Of course, you're on your knees, so this girl is pushing.) Then, when you push yourself to back up, you explode, pushing yourself back to where you are right on your lap. This is a plyometric spin. I like it!

There are many other plyometric exercises that you can add to your training routines. This will benefit your cheerleading skills immensely! You will be more accurate in your movements and more explosive in your movements. Move with a goal, and it will be shown in any cheerleading tournament!
