The balance of natural hormone with Chinese medicine and acupuncture -2

Our body hormones exist in a delicate balance with each other, and correcting the imbalance can be a difficult task. To understand exactly what we are dealing with, let us take a closer look at our endocrine system, the messaging system. We will then continue to explore how Chinese medicine can help balance female hormones in order to cope with various health disorders in women.

The endocrine system creates and distributes messages.

Our endocrine systems are a fascinating and complex thing to look at. What is the function of this system? The endocrine system consists of a number of glands that must produce and distribute hormones. Hormones are one of our primary messaging systems, and they coordinate the physiological activities of our body, just as the symphonic conductor coordinates all musical instruments to create harmonic characteristics.

Our key players are the Hypothalamus and Pituitary. This pair of glands regulates the other glands of the body, including the adrenal glands, the thyroid gland and the genitals. The hypothalamus and pituitary gland combine with several different key glandular players to form a multifunctional “axis” that work to regulate very important processes in the body. Here are three main axes: and their functions:

Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Gonad-Think & Reproduction.

Regulates male and female reproductive systems. Problems with this axis include infertility, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, sexual dysfunction, and menopause problems.

The hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid brain.

Regulates metabolism and the production and use of energy. Fatigue, weight gain, emotional disorders, anxiety, insomnia, and rapid heartbeat indicate problems here.

Hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal stress.

It regulates a wide range of activities, including stress response, digestive function, immunity, emotions and energy. Problems with this axis can manifest themselves in the form of fatigue, IBS or other functional disorders of organs, insomnia, emotional distortions and alcoholism.

TCM Type of hormonal effects

Chinese medicine has developed a different twist on hormones and where they come from. The endocrine system is the main equivalent of the kidney system in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is responsible for maintaining the functions associated with the genital, urinary, endocrine, bones, blood, and central nervous system. The kidney is our most basic source of energy and is primarily responsible for the reproduction, growth and development of the body.

How does Chinese medicine help with the hormonal balance of women?

Chinese medicine stands out when balancing women's body hormones and is effective in controlling menstrual disorders, treating the symptoms of menopause, and treating infertility. It is also great for eliminating mood swings, stress, low libido and bad energy.

The treatment begins with a full meal in which we formulate a Chinese medical diagnosis, and then go from there. The body of each woman is different and will be processed by an individual method, in contrast to Western medicine, where a particular health disorder is treated equally with each patient. For example, an irregular menstrual cycle can occur from several different models depending on your body and what is happening to you. I will identify your unique sample and work with you individually.

Your treatment plan usually includes a combination of acupuncture treatment and individual use and medication preparation. When you leave the office, you will be aware of the problem, how we will treat it, and how often you need treatment.

The use of medicinal herbs for the treatment of hormone imbalances

Chinese herbal formulas have clinically proven to be effective in changing the level of hormones in the body. The commonly used formula for treating menopause, for example, known as Rhemmania Six, alters the female sex hormones, directly affecting the adrenal cortex, other endocrine glands, or both.

From a biomedical point of view, it has been reported that this formula increases plasma cortisol levels (our stress-removing hormone), increases estroneal (estrogen derivative), and decreases total FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone). He also significantly increased estrogen receptors. What does all of this mean? The overall effect of the above data indicates a balance in hormone levels, which leads to a reduction in the symptoms of menopause.

Your herbal formula will be developed based on the symptoms you may experience. From the point of view of TCM, we will consider an imbalance in the kidney system. I will prepare a formula for you based on your TCM diagnostic test, which is fully customized for your body, using powdered herbs that can be combined to solve both your symptomatic picture and your root causative disorder. In other words, we’ll look at both of your symptoms so that you feel better, but we’ll also look at the root cause of your symptoms so that your cockpit skin finds balance again.

Using acupuncture to treat hormonal imbalances

Your acupuncture treatment will focus on balancing the body systems that are not balanced, providing a strong homeostatic effect using the nervous and hormonal systems. You will most likely be treated for imbalances in the kidney and liver systems to calm your nervous system and balance endocrine function.

Your acupuncture regimen will include weekly treatment sessions until the symptomatic presentations disappear, then a monthly maintenance treatment schedule will be set to prevent your symptoms from returning. Once we reach maintenance, you can come to preventive care if you want.

If you or someone you know are dealing with hormonal imbalances, such as menstrual pain or irregularity, menopause, infertility, low libido, or poor energy, please contact your office for a free consultation.
