 Perspectives for Medical Assistants -2

The economy is struggling endlessly, and we are seeing record full-time numbers. People who have stable guardians are very grateful, and some even see that career options are growing. PA jobs fall into this happy category, and employment is expected to grow much faster than the national average.

To become an assistant doctor, you must complete an accredited academic program consisting of classroom study, laboratory work and clinical practice. Medical Assistants ’programs take at least two years to complete when they are working on a full-time basis. Recent college graduates with an interest in healthcare who have difficulty finding a job should think about joining one of these programs.

Those who are not familiar with this career should know that it is different from a medical assistant. Medical assistants perform tasks that are more clinical in nature, although they also have normal clinical responsibilities. Like the work of the doctor's assistant, the prospects for the work of medical assistants are extremely positive over the next few years, so this is an alternative for those who do not want to study so much. Although the salary is usually lower, the duties are also not so high.

The job prospects of medical assistants are particularly positive with regard to medical facilities in rural areas and inner cities. Although the physician's assistant, also called PA, always works under the supervision of a physician, he may include the role of the main provider of medical services in one of these institutions. A doctor can only be in the office one or two days a week, giving the PA an opportunity to take on more responsibility.

PA jobs usually require a lot of standing and walking, especially if the PA works in a surgical environment. The work schedule varies depending on the practice, as well as the hours of the supervising doctor. PAs that work in hospitals may be required for working nights, weekends, and early mornings, as well as on call. Those who work in a clinic or a doctor’s office are approximately 40 hours a week. They may work in a primary health care facility or specialize in areas such as orthopedics, emergency medicine, or geriatrics.

The number of jobs with a physician assistant is greater than the number of practicing PAs, since many of them occupy more than one position. They can work in a health clinic in addition to help in the doctor’s office. In 2008, approximately 53 percent of the workplaces in the BCPs were located in the doctors' offices, while 24 percent were in private or state surgical or medical hospitals, while the rest were in outpatient facilities. Approximately 15 percent of practicing PAs worked in several clinical work.

It is expected that between 2008 and 2018, the number of jobs for doctors will grow by 39 percent, which is much higher than the average. These opportunities are usually more numerous in the offices of doctors, as well as in urban and rural medical institutions. Individuals seeking a career that will end in these difficult economic times should consider becoming a PA.
