Admission to medical school: the power of confirmation and renewal -2

The new year for us and 2011 brings with it the power to reorient our goals and renew our efforts. At this point in the health care filing cycle, some of you who went to medical school received your letter of acceptance, and unfortunately for others it is not. If you are in the first group, I congratulate you so that the work is well done. I wish you good luck as you continue your journey towards a career in medicine. However, if you are in the second group (or are not yet applying), then this article is for you. As Tom Krause said, "there are no failures just events and your reaction to them." If you did not get to the medical school of your choice, do not despair! Success can wait for you right in the next corner. So take yourself, try and get back to work. Completing the new year is a great opportunity to reorient your energies, whether you are returning back to the drawing board after you were rejected, or if you have not yet completed the application process. Below are a few considerations that should be considered when re-confirming the application process for a program:

1) Understand that success or failure lies in your hands. As a disciple-reverend, it is easy to feel that the application process for medical education is uncontrollable. You will do everything possible in your application and your interviews, and then lean back and hope for the best. This is a general approach, but it should not be. Instead, take an extremely proactive approach. Porirovu every detail of every application and constantly improve every area. Work until you see that the application cannot be improved. Do not leave anything accidental and do not depend on others to do their work for you.

2) Make sure your medical school applications tell a story. What is your story? What do you want a lawyer to take out your application and your interviews? Whether it is your passion for helping others, your excellent academic record, or your dream of being a doctor for life, make sure that you are intertwining your story into every element of your application. Take advantage of every opportunity to highlight your strengths and your potential. Your application provides a snapshot of your abilities, your dedication and your academic history. Make sure you send the strongest message!

3) Recognize bids. Let's take care of this by spending hours on hours working with your applications for admission to medical school, is not an idea of a good time. There are other things that you will most likely do. But when you have the desire to neglect your statements in favor of something more exciting, remind yourself of the stakes. Your commitment at this stage of the process will be the difference between taking a medical school or choosing a new career. Your attention today will literally shape your future.

Therefore, when you have just received disappointing news from high school or have not yet completed the application process, this is now a great opportunity to reorient and reaffirm your commitment. Take a few minutes to think about all the reasons you have dedicated to this goal, and then redo yourself for success.
