Different types of medical transportation -2

Medical transport has been exhausted since the injured had to be reached by the nearest healer or doctor. Ancient Greek and Roman soldiers sometimes shot a line of battle on their shields. For senior officials and military leaders, a chariot can be used to speed up evacuation. In later wars, horse-drawn carriages took the soldiers out of the fighting to help. In small towns, ambulance is often not needed, since the local doctor visited the infirm in their homes. Today, the most common way to get injured in a hospital or place of treatment is an ambulance. However, there are many other forms of ambulance in the world. Here are three ways, besides cars, for people to be taken to hospitals.

Helicopter

After cars, the most common form of medical transport, at least in the United States, is a helicopter. Helicopters first saw widespread use as vehicles during the Korean War. The United States armed forces have shown how efficiently they can be used to deliver troops to remote areas and quickly receive them when necessary. Today, helicopters are used for very serious injuries, where every second becomes vital for the patient's survival. A helicopter can carry a patient from the scene to the nearest hospital for significantly less time than a regular ambulance. Along with the greater speed of the helicopter, which can reach 250 miles per hour, it also does not have to fight traffic and other obstacles that any road creates. Helicopters are also used to select patients from remote locations that are not accessible to other vehicles, such as islands, deserts, and mountain peaks.

Ship

When accidents occur on lakes, around islands or along the coast, water ambulances are often used to transport survivors to the nearest hospital. Because of their larger size, these vessels, as a rule, have several trained staff on board, as well as more and better equipment than the car. In the event of accidents that occur far from the sea, coast guards around the world will help injured passengers and deliver them to the nearest land for treatment. In several cases, a helicopter can be sent to pick up a patient from a ship while still at sea. Because of the remote nature of the sea and the obligation that any vessel must respond to a distress signal, commercial cargo ships, fishing vessels and private yachts often also provide medical transportation.

Aircraft

Of course, the least common medical transport method, aircraft, however, are important. The most frequent use of aircraft for the transport of patients is when the patient needs to undergo treatment at a specific facility. This may be due to the fact that the institution has the best surgeon in a particular area or where there is a person who donated the organ. Although rarely used, ambulance airplanes can save lives.

Just as there are many ways in which a person can be injured, there is also a wide range of ways to get them to the hospital.
