How many medical schools do I need to apply for? -2

The final course of action is finally decided. You are heading to medical school! You certainly learned hard, devoting your time and effort to strengthening your resume, developing your knowledge and crushing MCAT®. At this stage you have reached a decent moment when you will need to make a decision. Decide where you are going to apply for medical education.

You may want to break free from the mid-west and simply apply to the east and west coasts. You might plan to stay around family members or loved ones. Whatever your desire, it is important to keep these important things in mind when applying to high school:

1. It will cost you a package! AMCAS® costs $ 160 for the 1st specialized medical school, and then $ 33 for each specified medical school thereafter. Applications in ten medical schools will cost you at least $ 457. Why do I say minimum? Clean, because it is completely for the AMCAS® application! Each medical school you choose to receive your application will then, in all likelihood, send you a secondary application. As a rule, secondary applications are also worth the money and much more than the original $ 33. Be prepared to pay up to $ 150 for secondary applications.

2. It takes a reasonable amount of time! As mentioned above, the AMCAS® application is just a starting point. When you finally download this app, it may take quite a few weeks to validate your app. After approval, it is distributed to selected medical schools. The time commitment continues at the moment the secondary applications start. These secondary applications usually require different essays and additional information. Having a large number of medical schools offering surveys on a sliding basis, it is naturally in your own interest to send these applications as soon as possible.

In an attempt to cut costs, it may seem reasonable to apply exclusively to medical schools that you would prefer to attend. On the contrary, one of the biggest mistakes made by students does not cover a sufficient number of medical schools. They limit the number of schools applied and the law of rates is not on their side. They do not get the number of minor people they hope for and eventually go to medical school, which was far from their list.

Do research, contact the medical schools that you want to attend, and contact the medical schools that you are sure are very competitive. After all, you do not know which school will want you!

In 2011, an incredible number of 609,312 applications from 42,919 applicants were downloaded from AAMC®, an average of 14 for each of them. Fourteen applications, 14 possible futures.

Choose wisely!

My history

When I went to medical school, it was the original year of online AMCAS®, what a mess! I turned to many medical schools and received a bunch of secondary ones, each of which asked for MORE essays and MORE features (and more MONEY). At that moment, I felt exhausted and tired. I just introduced some of the apps, wasting my time, my time and, most importantly, my money. If I had been looking for the application process for a medical school several times (or in general), I could be much more selective when choosing medical schools that my main application also addressed.
