When you feel pain, you want nothing but to finish it. The western approach is to reach the pill. If this does not work, then go to MD for stronger pills or even injections or patches. But what if all this fails, or you just want to avoid unwanted side effects (the most dramatic death from aspirin).
Fortunately, there are alternatives to the sometimes dangerous “conventional” approach — there is a natural pain relief available to you.
The first step is to try to understand your pain. As any real pain expert will tell you, we really don’t know what makes him different.
For example, we all know someone who suffers from back pain due to a slipping disk, but many people slipped on the disks and did not get sick. Some who have surgery on a disk are getting better, some don't matter!
The pain seems to depend not only on physical injuries and causes, but also on the complex interaction of thoughts, feelings, habits, lifestyle, posture, diet, biochemistry, and for some people even things like atmospheric conditions.
So, how can you understand your pain to get natural pain relief?
Well, first of all, you should be aware of all the possibilities that you are now. Then try to find some kind of professional help from a doctor who is more interested than medicine, or a chiropractor who is more interested in correcting your spell. Other alternatives would be applied by kinesiologists, acupuncturists, naturopaths. It is probably good to find someone who has experience in more than one area of natural pain relief - a good sign if they know about functional medicine.
What are some of the alternatives to natural pain relief?
A good manual therapist or osteopath should be shaped like your muscles and joints, using a combination of soft tissue methods and special spinal corrections. Along with manual methods, a good look at food and your emotions may be in order.
Let's first look at some mental / emotional issues.
All you care about is tightening your muscles, so you need to control it. There are many simple methods that make traditional psychology rather old-fashioned. Try a technique of emotional freedom or field therapy "Thought" for beginners and get a copy of Maxwell Maltz's excellent book Psycho-Cybernetics. Again, someone who will help you will help you.
With nutrition, there are a number of healthy supplements, but first of all, check your diet - you need enough water and vegetables, as well as less processed meat, wheat and sugar. Even things like tea and coffee can send some people pain, but they don’t understand until they stop. One of my patients was suffering from back pain because she had an intolerance to eggs and coffee.
After your diet, add oil for fishing. You need these healthy fats to make your own natural painkillers and anti-inflammatories, as well as oil, to lubricate your joints and calm your nerves.
Ginger and cayenne pepper seasonings performed well in clinical trials for pain relief.
A humble pineapple is filled with a natural painkiller called bromelain, which can be bought in pill form.
There is also SAM-e (short for S-adenosylmethionine), which has been shown to be as good as some drugs for arthritis.
The other, arnica, is often used in a homeopathic form, which makes it safe for children. It is both a pill and a cream, and whatever skeptics may say, it helps.
One of my favorite tools that I use in our clinic to help illuminate which nutrients and products are best for humans is the assessment of Braverman’s nature. You can easily find it on the Internet, but you will need help in interpreting what this means, so feel free to contact the clinic by email!
Another way to help reduce pain and swelling contributes to the production of glutathione. Glutathione is essential for detoxification, strengthening the health of the immune system and maintaining your cells in energy production.
Although glutathione is found in all foods, it is destroyed by digestive juices. However, you can increase it with very specific additives.
How to increase glutathione will be the subject of another article - or see the Resource Window below.
No matter how much pain you struggle, I hope this short article will help.
