In Georgia, 90% of the total direct patient market is served by registered certified nurses in accordance with the Georgian CNA Association. The state also comprised the top 10 states with most CNA jobs. In GA, certified patient care assistants are also direct care workers who perform basic medical and nursing care services for the elderly and patients with chronic and disabled conditions.
The state requires that the nursing assistants complete the work of the Georgia Department of Health (DCH) and OBRA-87, approved by the GA nursing assessment (GA NATCEP) assessment program to be eligible for participation in various conditions. DCH also contracted Alliant GMCF to support and support the GA Nursing Support Program and the NAR Assistants Registry (NAR). Alliant GMC also ensures that GA NATP and NAR meet the requirements for the Code of Federal Regulations and the prerequisites for CNA listing.
CNA Certification in Georgia Requirements
In order to obtain certification and obtain CNA certified certification in Georgia, student nurses must pass through two stages:
- Successfully complete the Nursing Education Program (NAP)
- Pass the state-approved Nursing Certification Exam (CEP)
Nursing Education Program
The state-approved training program is at least 85 hours and consists of 24-hour clinical hands-on experience and 61 hours of classroom / laboratory training. Training programs are offered by high schools, community colleges, home care institutions, long-term care services, private schools and technical institutes. Successful completion of both training parts is crucial for obtaining the necessary knowledge and skills for patient care. Completion of the program also allows nursing students to qualify for a state-approved certification exam.
GA Nurse Certification Test
The CA CNA Certification Test is also known as the Competency Assessment Exam / CNA and is offered to student nursing assistants who have successfully completed a state-approved nursing program. GA DOH and Alliant GMCF approved CNA testing — it is a tool for assessing nursing skills and candidate knowledge for nursing and nursing assignments in accordance with federal regulations and government guidelines. The Georgia Medical Assistance Foundation signed a contract with Pearson VUE, the national testing agency, to develop, schedule, count, and present the results of the NNAAP exam to the GA nursing register. All applicants will have to complete an application for registration on the examination form in order to be eligible to participate in the certification exam.
The NNAAP exam consists of two separate parts: a written / oral test and a skills test. Candidates are allowed to choose either a written test or an oral test. Both writing and skills tests are administered on the same day, and candidates will have to pass them for certification.
CNA certification renewal
The certificate (license) remains valid for 2 years in the Registry of Assistants of the Civil Aviation Nursing until its expiration date. Renewal of the license requires a minimum work for 8 hours with payment in the last 2 years. The update process lasts every 2 years, and if you do not work for at least 8 hours, you will have to repeat the NNAAP test again.
