Life Alert is one of the most well-known medical alert systems on the market today. They are known for the fact that "I fell and I can not get up" on commercials. They have two main production lines; Life Alert 50+ and Life Alert Classic.
Good:
Life Alert is based on monitoring health warnings and has no other products. They have been a player in the industry for many years and have created one of the best deals available. They offer several features such as fire, carbon monoxide and fall control. There is access to the installation. They also offer a refund if the user dies alone in their home.
Bad:
Monthly expenses are much higher than other services. This is due to one of the largest and most well-known companies in the industry. Buying a medical alert system is difficult, and sales representatives seem to give different information on each call. They have 24-hour monitoring, but customer service is only available during business hours. They need a three-year contract that is much longer than any competitor. Additional options are expensive to add and increase monthly payments. They do not have activity monitoring or automated system testing. Although they have many functions, there is no drop control option.
Our opinion:
As the industry leader, Life Alert is a disappointment. Prices are too high, and the selling process is confusing and unclear. The possibilities are somewhat limited, and the lack of automated system tests is a big disadvantage. They do offer good service, but you should probably look at alternatives that offer similar quality at a lower price.
