Teen Drug Abuse - Cough Dangers Drug Abuse - Robo-Tripping -2

Deactivating is one of the street names for cough abuse, a growing form of drug abuse. Sometimes referred to as “robusting,” cough abuse has worsened in recent years. In the form of a syrup or tablet form, adolescents and children often consume huge and potentially fatal doses of cough medicine, seeking to get the most from Dextromethorphan, which is an active ingredient that can eliminate coughing.

According to a recent study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, which involves more than 48,000 students, out of the ten most common drugs abused by those in the 12th grade, at least seven of them are either available through the counter or are prescribed. It is hardly surprising habits, but cough medicine is relatively high.

Surprisingly, children often take up to 50 times the recommended dose when the robot is shutting down to get the desired results. These results include trans, such as a condition, hallucination, or “stumbling.” However, it is not surprising that in some cases such a significant dose can be fatal.

Understanding the effects and risks

Contrary to what some may believe, the abuse of cough is no doubt as dangerous as any illegal drug. Because of the very nature of DXM (Dextromethorphan), the effects vary with dosage, and most offenders compare the effects to different plateaus. While some teens describe it as a very mild stimulant, others may experience hallucinations or even complete dissociation from the body. In fact, since DXM only produces effects on taking such huge doses, the line is thin between achieving trance or zoning and loss of consciousness.

Because of how the drug affects visual perception and cognitive processes, coupled with the fact that these effects can last up to six hours, the offenders risk harming themselves and others while under the influence. This can affect the management of judgment and momentum.

As such, large doses of DXM can cause disturbing effects, such as the inability to move arms or legs or even the inability to speak. In fact, such high doses can also lead to slow breathing, brain hemorrhage, brain damage, stroke, or even death. In addition, if a drug is abused when a person is already working, for example, in nightclubs or raves, or if he is abused in an exceptionally warm environment, the attacker is at risk of hypothermia.

In addition to the serious risks already mentioned above, the abuse of DXM can also lead to nausea, irregular heartbeat, increased blood pressure, pain in the head, abdominal pain, loss of feeling in the fingers and toes, unconsciousness, convulsions and death.

There are literally thousands of overdose cases reported by emergency services throughout the country and, according to authorities, it appears that DXM overdose occurs in clusters because the word about drug distribution is distributed through different schools in the community.

They say that prevention is better than cure, and this is especially true when it comes to substance abuse. Regardless of whether you suspect abuse, all responsible parents should discuss this issue with their children. By highlighting the danger of cough medicine and other contraceptive drugs at an early stage, you can prevent such a scenario from developing. Similarly, if you have reason to suspect that your child is involved, you need to immediately confront them and report your problems. Depending on the circumstances, it may also be advisable to involve a consultant or even a family doctor.
