When patients and visitors enter the Van Elslander Pavilion at the John Medical & Medical Center (SJH & MC) St. Petersburg Hospital, they are welcomed by warm reception and waiting areas. Above, natural light penetrates the three-story atrium windows. While the newly opened pavilion is a new front entrance to the hospital, visitors are stuck in a non-hospital state of the environment. As part of a $ 163 million expansion program for the hospital, the Van-Elslander Pavilion was opened in autumn 2007 and is part of the largest expansion program in St. Louis. John is 54 years old.
The 250,000-square-foot pavilion is also home to the Warren Shelden Center for Heart and Blood Circulation, where almost half of the law is for cardiovascular services. In the center there are 30 separate waiting rooms.
Also in the new pavilion, the Fontbonne Diagnostic Imaging Department offers updated digital imaging services, including two 64-section CT scanners and a 16-segment scanner. Another 64-segment scanner will be located in the emergency room.
In addition, the Van Elslander Pavilion combines ultrasound, vascular laboratory and nuclear medicine. To date, two additional floors of the Van Elslander Pavilion are open. The final floor is scheduled for completion in early June. In general, the pavilion will have 144 private rooms for patients. The entire facility is equipped with advanced technology services, organized in a patient-oriented design.
The second and third floors of the Van Elslander Pavilion were also recently opened after the dedication ceremonies. The second floor, 5 north, will take care of the heart patients. while the third floor of the pavilion, 6 North, will take care of oncology patients. There are 36 separate rooms on the floors (including bariatric rooms). Every aspect of new, large patient rooms has been designed to improve the treatment environment and maximum comfort for patients and their families. Each room has a flat-screen TV, conference rooms, a conference room for doctors and individual workplaces for nurses.
In addition to the Van Elslander Family Foundation, other donors in the Van Elslander Pavilion included the John A. and Marlene L. Boll Foundation, the Shelden family, the Manugan Foundation, Anthony L. Soave and the family, Gretchen C. Walade and Jane and Robert Nugent, and Kresge Foundation, Emergency Medicine and St. Louis. John Hospital Guild.
Also, while making the story, St. Louis John emergency doctors promised $ 1 million at the SJH & MC Expansion Campaign. For their donations, the group will be recognized in the updated Victim Assistance Center. Pledge is the largest of a group of doctors in the history of SJH & MC. So far, SJH & MC doctors have raised over $ 2.5 million for the campaign.
