Medicare Plan F and Plan J are two of the most sought after by older people. The main reason is that these two plans fill the very gaps that Medicare does not cover. Many additional insurance companies offer Plan F, but with the advent of Medicare Part D drug coverage, Plan J may be harder to find. There are only a few companies offering Plan J.
Medicare J Coverage Supplement
As a rule, Plan J is more expensive than other available add-on plans. However, it offers the most comprehensive coverage available for older people studying for Medicare. Consumers choose Plan J because it covers all eight spaces, including:
Main advantages
Accompanying a nursing agency
Part A Subtractable
Part B Deductible
Part B Excess (100%)
Foreign trips
Home restoration
Preventive care does not apply to Medicare.
Medicare does not cover some annual wellness checks as a regular group or individual health insurance plan. Medigap Plan J is the only plan that will pay for visiting preventative care. It differs from most other plans in that it also covers the recovery time at home — for example, a home visit by a physiotherapist. Older people who want full coverage usually choose a plan J.
Medicare F Coverage Plan
Plan F is usually slightly cheaper than Plan J. It only covers six of the eight gaps in Medicare. He does not pay benefits for At Home Recovery and Preventive Care not covered by Medicare. Older people who are on a tighter budget, but who want to get almost full coverage, will choose project plan F.
Other additional plans
Of course, there are several other optional plans to choose from, including plans A, B, C, D, G, E, K, and L. These plans are less expensive than their more complete counterparts, but will provide advantages for the most common claims. In addition, several operators offer high Medigap franchise plans. (Extra franchise coverage will not pay benefits until the consumer chooses his or her franchise). However, J and F plans remain the most popular with older people who want full insurance coverage.
