Overview of the collection and maintenance of libraries of medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh: prospects, problems and a proposal for their modernization
Introduction
Libraries are the soul of any research or academic institution. They constitute the most important education forum, especially in the field of technical education. Due to the rapid pace of development occurring in various fields of science and technology (S and T), it becomes necessary for libraries to remain up-to-date with the latest technological advances, so that information dissemination becomes efficient, fast, feasible, economical, affordable and useful.
The usefulness of the library depends largely on its collection. Therefore, it is very important to exercise maximum caution when choosing and maintaining a good and strong collection of documents such as books, periodicals, books with manuscripts, reference books, dictionaries, reference books, encyclopedias, and other other relevant information. The creation and development of a library capable of satisfying the needs of users, such as scientists, students, researchers and others, is an important task of a good library. The quality of the services provided and user satisfaction largely depend on which collections are available. An integrated, balanced and modern collection is to have documents of different types in various physical forms to meet the information needs of users.
The main goal of the library is to provide efficient services to its users. Therefore, user satisfaction should be the main goal of a good librarian. This goal cannot be achieved until the library management has a clear idea of the needs and requirements of the user. The library should be well equipped, in addition to having a good and reliable collection of documents. A variety of services should be offered to meet the needs of its users. To provide better services, you should adopt the latest and most advanced technologies.
In the modern era of the information explosion, which led to the evolution of multidisciplinary areas in different areas of S and T, the demand and expectations of users have increased significantly. To address this problem, the library must be well equipped with modern means of storing and retrieving information so that the right information is available to the right user in the right place at the right time.
With the advent of computers and the Internet, a transformation is taking place in the information infrastructure leading to the development of digital or electronic libraries. Recent advances in information technology, telecommunications, software, networking, multimedia, and scanning technology have led to revolutionary changes in library and information technology. Network technologies have led to the creation of virtual or online libraries that are extremely popular among users and are a boon to society as a whole because of instant access to information anytime, anywhere in the world. Thus, the barriers of time and space were destroyed, and the vast world turned into a “global village”, where everyone can directly access information of their choice using the methods of computer software, network technologies and scanning technologies.
A digital library can be defined as an electronic version of a traditional library, where all information is stored and stored in digital form. In a digital library, data access includes non-textual information, such as photographs, drawings, illustrations, works of art; numeric data streams (satellite information, cosmological data); digitized sound and moving visual images and three-dimensional representations (holograms), in addition to traditional textual information.
There are many allopathic medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh where digitalization and networking of libraries can give a great impetus not only to improving the quality and level of care in hospitals, but also to a great extent to promote medical research and research. But the implementation of this process of digitization and networking of libraries depends largely on the role and attitude of librarians in this overarching process for its success.
Literature review
Many sources of information, published and unpublished, were consulted to develop a clear concept for the proposed study. It was noted that the process of digitizing and networking in libraries and computer science has greatly helped in efficiently and instantly distributing the right information at a reasonable price at the right time to the right user.

The hypothesis can be considered as a preliminary generalization of the problem under study. It is intended to provide the researcher with the opportunity (before the actual data collection) to predict the results of the study. A hypothesis is an expectation of events or an insightful guess or prediction of research results.
Therefore, since hypotheses are predictions, they are formulated before data collection. No hypothesis should be formulated as soon as the data is known.
The following hypotheses were formulated for the proposed study. On
1) The libraries of allopathic medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh have a rich collection of documents.
2) Allopathic Medical Colleges libraries provide many services to their users.
3) The libraries of allopathic medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh face certain challenges.
4) There is an urgent need to modernize the libraries of allopathic medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh in accordance with the latest methods, such as digitization and networking of libraries.
methodology
To complete the proposed study, it is planned to adopt the following method:
1) Literature Search: - This is done through consultation with the extensive literature on digitization and networking. For this, various books by famous authors will be carefully studied, as well as magazines and seminar materials.
2) Application Form: - For the proposed study, the most important data collection tool is the questionnaire. Therefore, a comprehensive questionnaire should be compiled to collect all relevant and relevant data. This questionnaire is sent to the librarians of the relevant libraries. After filling in the completed questionnaire, the data are analyzed and interpreted in accordance with the objectives of the proposed study.
3) Library survey: - It is planned to conduct a library survey to systematically collect data on libraries, their activities, operations, staff, use and users at a specific point in time or within a certain period of time.
4) Interview with librarians: - In order to collect accurate data and obtain the opinions and opinions of librarians of relevant libraries, it is also proposed to conduct personal interviews with interested librarians.
