Thinking about the questions themselves should activate a process that can help your organization thrive in these difficult times. These questions relate to the leadership of the organization. There will be another set of questions related to the delivery of services to people who receive services from your organization.

1. Does your organization have an active corporate compliance plan?
2. Are eight elements included in your plan?
3. Is your organization “living” eight elements?
4. Do you have a process to identify areas of risk?
5. Do you have systems to help you recognize changes?
6. Does your organization have a system to evaluate whether your programs are working?
7. Does your organization have the ability to respond quickly to changes and trends, both inside and out?

9. Are quality tools used as analysis tools through the organization?
10. Is there a tactical as well as strategic planning process that is regularly updated and used?
11. Does your organization use teams in the management process?
12. Do you know the reasons why teams may fail?
13. Can you identify key functions and processes for each department in your organization?
14. Does your organization have an IT department?
15. Is this department able to store and receive the information necessary to function in this era of rapid exchange of information?
16. Does your organization have a system that provides communication at all levels and in all directions?
17. Has the financial department of the organization increased and kept up with all the programmatic changes that occurred within the organization?
18. Is your organization prepared to audit the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG)?
