Before you can make any decisions about Medicare, you need to know and understand these important truths about Medicare Advantage.
Medicare Advantage is network based.
Perhaps the most important thing you need to know about Medicare Advantage programs is that they all rely on some network of providers. These networks are represented as HMO, PPO or PFFS. There may be some differences, but they are most common. I will break these networks in the third installment of this series.
Plans are not created equal.
Although they are structured in the same way; Medicare Advantage plans can vary greatly from plan to plan. This means that you must do your homework before joining one of these plans. You must begin by determining whether your providers are online. The second largest factor to be considered by most people is the maximum out of pocket. Do not be fond of comparing small things, such as doctor's certificates without a doctor's office, this is your second home!
MA plans provide maximum appearance.
Continuing from the previous point, Maximum Out-of-Pocket is one of the biggest benefits of Medicare Advantage. If you remember my previous Medicare article; it does not give you this protection. For people who cannot afford Medicare or just want to save money, the maximum unscheduled function of Medicare Advantage plans provides excellent security.
Medicare Advantage is still part of Medicare.
I include this truth because I discovered that many people believe that they lose their Medicare benefits when they join Advantage. The truth is, Medicare Advantage is actually called part of Medicare C. Yes, it overestimates the benefits of your part A and Part B, but in fact it’s good for you, because it allows you in many cases not to pay large franchises and 20%.
Medicare Advantage is not for everyone!
I can not say that one plan fits all. Unfortunately, because each plan is different, and your needs are different from your neighbors; I can not say that you join one specific plan. Start by asking yourself these questions; How important is freedom of choice when it comes to your medical staff? How important is cost? How healthy am I?
